Chapter 4 Don't I get paid

" You have been punching that thing all morning, today is Monday aren't you going to the office?" Viola asked Estrella who was sweating from punching the boxing bag for hours. The bag had become so soft, like it was begging for help, but Estrella kept punching it.

" Which office? " She asked still punching the dying bag.

" Stelle, did you forget that today is that day you are supposed to sign the contract if being the CEO's wife? "

" Oh... that's today... I didn't... know" Estrella heaved for air wiping her sweat with a towel beside her.

"Stella!"

" What? I'm just still annoyed". Estrella yelled in frustration.

" Is it still because of those twins?" Viola asked coming to stand next to her.

" How could they just reject me like that, as in I was trying to help them get out of that s**t hole they call an orphanage, but they just rejected it". It had been frustrating her since on Saturday, when they went to the orphanage.

" In their defense, the orphanage was really nice..." Estrella glared at her and Viola stopped talking.

"But that's not enough reason for you not to go, you won the bet, you ought to go through with it".

"Argh! Can't I just make them forget they ever met me?" She asked frustration seeping out of her every word.

" You can't. Remember when we left you promised that you were not going to use your powers you willing humans".

" Why? " Estrella slumped on the bench close by. A glass of juice came floating towards her and she picked it up.

" Thank you".

Viola cane to seat beside her on the bench.

" You just have to go. I've read the contract and it's not that bad. "

" What are the rules? " Estrella lazily asked.

" Just three major ones. No meddling in the other business, always be there when he needs you... "

" Wait, I'm like his servant? Can this get any worse? " Estrella whined, but Viola just laughed.

It was only her that got to see this side of Estrella frequently, where they came from, they called the girl a cold hearted witch.

" And the last one, no falling in love".

" Phew..." She spilled the drink in her mouth on the floor.

" Why would he out such a stupid rule?"

"So you were going to fall for him?" Viola mischievously asked.

"Me... No, I just meant why would he out such a rule because there's no way I'm falling for that type of person. You know me Vi, I don't date". Estrella quickly denied.

"But it's not dating, he is your husband". Viola said and laughed when Estrella cringed.

"It's just the basics, you are to be at his place three times a week, Mondays, like today, Wednesdays, and Fridays. "

Estrella nodded taking everything in.

"How much is the pay?" She asked after Viola was done giving her the rules.

" There's no pay". Viola answered shocking Estrella.

" How is there no pay? So I'm being his pretend wife for free? "

" Maybe to him, he thinks that you're one of those ladies who can kill just to be close to him".

" Well I'm not, and I'm heading over there right now to discuss how much I'm getting paid, 'cause I ain't doing this for free". Estrella stood up from the bench.

" How long is the contract by the way? " She asked massaging her hands.

" Half a year, six months". Estrella nodded, and left the garden.

" Wow, this company is huge!" Estrella exclaimed looking up at the huge skycrapper in front of her.

The audition, as she calls it was not done in his company so she had never seen the huge building before.

"He had all this and doesn't want to pay me?" Estrella scoffed. Let's see how that would be possible.

She went straight to the first desk.

" I'm looking for Alexander Hamilton".

The lady at the front desk looked at her all over.

"I'm sorry, but you can't see the CEO without an appointment ". The lady said not so respectfully.

" I don't have time for this... " Estrella blinked and when she opened her eyes, it was deep red.

" Where is the CEO's office? " She asked again, but this time, the lady nodded.

" Top floor, the 50th floor". The lady replied clearly under a trance. Her eyes were spinning slowly like a person being hypnotized.

"See, how hard was that". She blinked her eyes again, then it transformed back to it's color, brown.

The front desk lady just saw a woman walking into the office.

" Who was that? " She completely forgot what happened.

The office hall was quiet, so quiet and cold. Everybody was still because of one reason, Alexander Hamilton was seated.

A team was supposed to present their project again after being rejected by the man for more than three times. If they were rejected again, everybody in the team would be fired. They were all scared for themselves, and some sympathizers were also there, silently wishing their friends goodbye from the office. It would be impossible for Alexander to be pleased with the project. He was a perfectionist, that's why they were the best company in the whole of America.

" Is that all?" Alex asked after the presentation was done.

He was about to speak again when the door to the office opened abruptly. Everyone turned to the door, to see the intruder.

Estrella as surprised to see so much people in the room. Alexander personal assistant had stopped her on her way here, he said that the CEO was in a board meeting, but she didn't believe it. she thought it as just a lie to stop her from seeing Alexander.

Even after she told him that she was his fiancee, the man still refused her entry, so she had no choice than to spell him so she could pass smoothly.

But it turns out he was right, there was actually a meeting going on here.

Alexander was surprised at the guts of the woman to just barge into his meeting.

' It seems like this woman is even more interesting that I thought ' Alex smirked.

" Er..." Estrella nervously smiled. About 50 pairs on eyes were on her, what was she suppose to say...

" I didn't know there was a meeting going on here, so... em... I'll just leave..." She backed away slowly.

" Em... Alexander, I'll be waiting for you in your office".

She had been embarrassed alot in her life some of it by accident, but this was her fault. She should have just listened to that darn assistant when he told her that Alexander was in a meeting.

The people present in the board meeting were just stunned. The atmosphere went from Cold and suffocating, to calm and hilarious in less than a minute.

' Who is this lady? ' They all asked themselves. This was the first time someone had ever interrupted their meeting, ever. The staffs that worked here were too afraid of the CEO to try something that stupid, but this lady... She barged in and the CEO turned calm, they even saw a small smile on his face.

Who was this lady? was she a new staff? If she was why did she call him by name?

The door was shut as slowly as possible by Estrella. She was trying to keep the attention on her to be as minimum as possible.

Immediately the door closed, she ran straight to his office to wait for him. The lady at the front desk told her where his office was, but she asked the assistant where he was, and that was how she entered this mess.

Alexander kept looking at the door even afte Estrella had left.

" Sir, what do you think about the presentation?" A person from the team presenting recovered quickly. Now that the distraction was gone, the room had gone back to being cold waiting for the CEO's opinion.

" Good, this meeting is adjourned". Alexander stood up and left.

What!

This was the first time the CEO had nothing else to say after a presentation. He always had correction, always.

But that just left the people to wonder even more.

" Who is that girl?"
