Chapter 2 An Angel

" Come on, Stella do we really have to be here?" Viola complained, slowly dragging her luggage behind her dragging her.
Estrella won the stupid bet they made yesterday. So now she had to be her servant for the whole day without using her powers.
"Don't complain Vi, you made the bet and I'm just making sure you follows through it". Estrella laughed. The bet was Viola's idea. Viola had said that the CEO would never choose her if she cut down her beauty by seventy percent, change her hair color and isn't compelled by her powers, so that was what she did.
She used her powers to cut down her beauty to more than half it's original, she even changed her prise winning original white hair to black, and some other few abnormal features. For example, normal people had blue, black, brown, or in rare cases green eyes, but she wasn't human, her eyes was red, but it was beautiful.
Her best friend, Viola had green eyes which was really common where they came from, which was not here.
"But I never said I wanted to be dragged around the park!". Viola shoved the bag on Estrella face to show her how much load she was carrying.
" And I never said I was going to go through with being that CEO's wife, but you said if I passed, I must go through with it, so betyer suck the pain up".
Viola pouted. But then her lips turned up as a thought came to her.
' She was only doing this for a day, but Estrella had to go six whole months without using her powers in front of the CEO '. Just the thought made her smile.
" You know I hear your thoughts right?" Estrella looked over her shoulder.
"I was not keeping my joy away from you. " Viola shrugged. Of course she knew Estrella could read her mind, but she wasn't hiding anything from her anyways.
Estrella raised her hands up slightly and a flower flew to her palms. She raised it to her nose and sniffed it.
"It smells nice".
"Are you an angel?". A cute littke boy stood directly in front of Estrella with his mouth opened.
The lady in front of him was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her eyes were dark red, her skin flawless. Her face literally screamed beautiful, and her hair, her hair was pure white! So he concluded, she was an angel. Because if she wasn't, how could the flower just fly directly her hands like that, there was no wind.
Estrella looked down at the little creature that stood in front of her.
"I'm not honey, I'm not good enough to he called an angel". She answered.
The boy tilted his head thinking, then his eyes lit up
"Then are you a devil? ". He asked. If she was not an angel, then she must be a devil. He had read a book that talked about devil's being as beautiful as angels.
Estrella chuckled at the question.
" She's bad, but not bad enough to be called a devil". Viola who was behind them answered still struggling with the luggage in her hands.
" Then what are you? You're too beautiful to be a human".
Well this boy was smart. In all her years of living with humans even as her regular self, no one ever calles her a non-human. The only thing they ever classified her as was pretty. Even if she accidentally displayed her skills in front of them, they just refused to believe and told themselves all sorts of things to make it what she does believable.
" I'm a mage". She squatted down to the little boy's height as she answered.
"A what?"
" A mage... As in a powerful magician, or sorcerer like person who can do all sorts of things with her mind". Viola broke it down to the little kid.
" I was going to say that". Estrella whined and Viola stuck her tongue out. They both giggled realizing they were being silly in front of a little kid.
" So who are you?". Estrella asked the kid after the laughter had died down.
"My name's Sky "
"Sky". Estrella repeated, it was a nice name.
"So, Sky, what are you doing out here alone?" Viola asked coming to squat beside Sky.
" Hey that is my spot ". Estrella pushed Viola playfully.
Viola pushed Estrella back.
" I'm not alone, I came with my sister. ". Sky said and as if on cue a small female voice shouted.
" Look Sky, some nice couple gave us money". The young girl came to stand beside Sky.
"Who are this people?" The little girl whispered into the little boy's ear.
But of course, Estrella and Viola's heard it.
"I'm Estrella..."
"... And I'm Viola" They answered shocking the little girl.
" How did they hear me?". She whispered again, asking her brother.
"They said they're mages".
"Ma... What?"
"Sky, who is this? ". Viola asked. As much as she loved listening to her whisper to Sky, she was standing right in front of them, couldn't they be discreet?
"She's my twin sister, Skylar. " Sky said pointing at the cute girl.
"You're a twin. How nice. What are you both doing here without a guardian?" Estrella asked the twins.
"We just wanted to get out of the orphanage for a while". Sky answered.
" Orphanage... You guys are orphans? " Viola answered but the twins refused to answer.
Estrella and Viola looked at themselves.
" How old are you both?" Viola raised a brow as she asked.
The twins raised a hand and showed Viola four fingers.
" We're four years old".
" Four?" four! And they outside in a park, by themselves?
" Why would you go out by yourselves? you are both still way too young!" Estrella was shocked. At four she expected children to still be clinging unto their parents.
" We just wanted to get out of the orphanage, it was getting annoying being there". Sky said and Skylar agreed nodding her head to what her brother was saying.
Viola phone rang and she excused herself to pick it.
" Wouldn't they look for you?" Estrella asked, and the twins' eyes instantly widened.
" What's the time?" Skylar asked hurriedly.
Estrella checked her phone and called the time out for them.
" It's a quarter past four".
They gasped.
" We have to get going".
Viola came back and went to whisper in Estrella ears.
" The contract was just sent". Estrella nodded.
" Hey, mage we have to go now". Sky pulled Estrella pants to get her attention.
" Wait... " She dipped her hands into her bag and brought out an id card.
" This is my contact, if you need anything, call me".
Skylar collected it from her, both twins held hands and ran away in the opposite direction.
" Aren't they just cute?" Estrella asked still looking at the direction the twins ran in.
" They are, but you better stop thinking about them. You have a lot more things you need to worry about!" Viola answered. Estrella looked at her
" You know you act like a mother hen sometimes, and it gets really annoying, but I still love you".
" Argh". Viola scoffed. But she knew Estrella meant it. They had been friends for as long as she could remember.
" Let's get going, you have a contract to read". Estrella began walking away.
"What do you mean by I have a contract to read? It's your marriage.... Estrella!" Viola called after her. When she looked at the heavy luggage she would have to carry again, she blubbered.
" Estrella, you can't leave me to carry this alone!"
" It's your bet!" Estrella shouted back and laughed.
