Devica PART 8 “So, Raven, what University do you plan to go to?” Vio asked. Vio and Camilla were Raven’s classmates back in elementary school. They were aware of what happened to his parents. However, they were not close back then plus Raven started to keep to himself during high school so they did not know how to reach out to him. Also, Vio’s parents happened to know Raven’s uncle. On the day of their graduation, his mother happened to see Raven’s relative. “So, that’s the poor boy,” Vio’s mother sighed. Vio followed her gaze and saw she was looking at Raven’s family. Misunderstanding what his mother meant with the word ‘poor’, he frowned. After all, his mother never looked down on anyone. “Mother, Raven is a good person.” His mother looked at him and sighed, the back of her hand supporting her chin. “I know, that’s why he’s pitiful. Looked at his smile because that small bouquet, not knowing the person who gave it was actually a leech, sucking his blood dry.” Vio couldn’t tell him the truth. After all, it’s their family’s affair and as an outsider, it was not proper to put his hands on someone else’s business. All he could do was silently support him. Since then, he planned to help however he can. Nephrite smiled at them, I will take the entrance exam at Deneb University. '' I want to study digital art and animation.” “That’s great! It’s near our university. Let’s meet up some time.” Halfway through their meal, they heard murmurs from the other guests. Nephrite was facing the direction of the entrance. His attention got caught as he saw a very handsome man enter the hall. The man was about 190cm, Just his height and posture already gave off a very domineering aura. His movements were both sharp and smart, catching the attention of the crowd. Nephrite could not pull his eyes away from this person as the others got closer to where they were. As he got a closer look, the man’s appearance burned in his head. His jet black hair was as dark as the night sky. Those piercing blue phoenix eyes struck at me as he flicked his gaze in my direction. His high bridge nose would surely feel nice to the touch. Nephrite could already imagine himself slowly tracing the bridge of his nose, down to the man’s luscious looking lips that tempting him to bite— “Are you alright? You’re in a daze just now!” Vio tapped his shoulders. Nephrite snapped out of his trance-like state. His face flushed red. F*ck. Am I a s*x-starved beast? Am I that pent-up already? Before Nephrite could answer, Camilla stood up. “Uncle!” Nephrite and Vio greeted him as well. But the uncle froze when someone suddenly stood beside him. “President Wezel, did you forget something? May I help you?” The man did not answer him but instead turned his glance at the table. Coincidentally, Nephrite was staring at the man’s side profile as well. Their eyes met. The uncle was confused for a second but snapped right back right away, “Ah, yes, children. I would like you to meet Mr. Dylan Wezel, Wezel Conglomerate’s COO.” There’s no further introduction needed. Obviously, he owned the place they were in. “President Wezel, this is my niece who I’ve mentioned to you last time, Camilla.” Dylan Wezel did not like shaking hands with people without his gloves. Aware of that fact, Camilla quickly bowed at him. “It’s my pleasure to meet you, Mr. Wezel.” Her uncle continued, “And these two are her friends.” Vio and Nephrite greeted him the same way. But as Nephrite lowered his head, his forehead bumped into something. Realizing what it was, he immediately grabbed the tips of the other’s hand. “I-I'm sorry, Sir. Nice to meet you. I’m Raven Moonfield.” Vio did not notice the slight change in the surroundings, “Hello, Sir, I’m Vio Jensen. It’s a great honor to meet you.” No one spoke right away so both Vio and Nephrite looked up. Dylan was intently staring at Nephrite. However, everyone thought he was glaring at him. The pair of uncle and niece were already sweating and scared cold assuming they had offended Mr. Wezel. When Camilla greeted Dylan with a bow, Nephrite immediately noticed that the man in front of them did not like shaking hands with other people. But when his forehead bumped against the other’s fingertips, he instinctively grabbed the latter’s hand. Certain of his mistake, he pulled away from his hand. But Dylan did not let go. “Raven, was it? You seemed familiar.” “You really seemed familiar,” Dylan repeated himself, the creases on his forehead grew deeper. Nephrite gave an awkward laugh, “Sir, as much as I’m very honored for you to recognize me, I would not like to deceive you. This is really the first time that we met. I have a common face, after all.” Nephrite smiled at him. If your face defines ‘common’ in this world, then I’ll be damned. Dylan complained to himself. The young man’s strawberry blonde hair and green eyes were even one of the rarest colors in the world. How was that common? But Dylan could not think why Raven felt familiar. He reluctantly let go of his hand. “Then apologies for my mistake,” he said in a very serious, business-like tone. “Nice meeting all of you. If you need to do an internship in the future, you’re all welcome to our company.” Hearing that, all of them bowed at Dylan in thanks. “Please continue your meal. We need to be on our way.” After their group left, Camilla excitedly turned to her friends, completely forgetting the awkward atmosphere that happened just now. “Oh my gosh! Don’t you know what that means?” She did not wait for their answer, “If we decide to start applying for our internship, we can really apply to any companies under Wezel Conglomerate!” Vio’s jaw dropped, “Wow! Really? It’s not just any courtesy talk?” “Yes! Mr. Dylan Wezel was well known for being a man of his word. Let’s make a bet. Uncle will ask me about both yours and Raven’s name soon.” “If you say so.” They were interrupted when a man with a gold-plated name tag which indicated him as the manager came to them. “Dear guests, our Young Master ordered us to attend to your needs. Aside from that, you are free to use all of our leisure lounges for today. If you need anything else, please tell us.” He gestured to the waiter who had been serving them since earlier. The three of them looked at each other. How can someone be so generous?!
