Extra Chapter: Jill and Feng (1) (A/N: Jill’s memory) [The Reapers Main Headquarters] “Wow! This vessel looked like me?!” Agase exclaimed as he observed this new soul who wanted to sign a contract with them from the holographic screen. Though the person resembled him, it was actually a child, around only fifteen years old. “It’s name was also Agase. Are you sure you did not mess around?” Jill asked as she processed the contract the boy transmitted from his brain. The boy was currently in a bleeding state after getting hit by a truck. They freeze the soul’s time in order to form a contract but there was a five minute countdown into it. The boy was one of the rare souls strong enough to transmigrate. However, he had a strong regret in this lifetime that it got detected by their system. Bad luck. Now their system trapped him in this vessel contract. Agase’s teammate, Feng, urged the child to finish the contract faster. They did not have enough time. Agase curiously leaned into the holographic screen to read the details of the contract. “Correct his mistakes? He betrayed a friend who trusted him, ruining the friend’s life? And he did it for a girl, the friend’s cousin who just used him? WTF! You guys correct your information. This child is not soul-related to me. Not even a micron.” “Well, whether or not his existence had to do with you, it doesn't matter anymore.” Jill closed the hologram. The contract had been sealed. “You’re taking this mission.” Agase gaped at her. But he had no right to retort. After all, he knew full well that he really suited this mission. He could just go with his current body and even if he used the vessel, he would not experience the usual discomfort when a hunter used another person’s body. Jill stared at the data she collected. Instinct told her something seemed unusual with the situation. But was not the type who would bother checking every nook and cranny for something irrelevant at the moment. Ignoring the nagging feeling inside her, she sent the information to Agase. “Make use of all this information. Once the vessel’s lifeline got cut off, enter his body right away. Agase opened the file. “Sure.” Jill slammed her palms on the table, ignoring the pain from her injuries. Her eyes fierce as she glared at the Reapers executives across her, disgusted by everyone’s decision. Feng quietly observed the situation beside her. Jill repeated her question, her voice shaking from anger. “You people wanted to eliminate Agase just like that? What the hell is wrong with you all?! Just last time, you were still praising him with his achievements and how he decisively got souls! Now, you want his soul as well?” “Miss Jill, we know you were emotional since Agase was your teammate. But you should understand the problem he caused after abandoning the quest.” One of the executives said. “The f*ck was it his fault? It’s the higher ups who insisted for him to take the mission even if he already declined. Too much freedom in choosing a job.” “Jill, the fact that he ran away after a failed mission is still undeniable.” Jill stared at the blond man sitting at the right side chair next to the leader’s seat. The man’s blue eyes staring maliciously at her. She gritted her teeth. “Ray, he dispersed right in front of my eyes!” Ray stood up from his chair and walked towards her. Jill was tall with her 179cm height. However, she still needed to look up to maintain her ‘staring contest’ with this 189cm man. The height difference made her feel more annoyed. Ray only left 20cm of distance between them. He grinned as he looked down on Jill. “Was not destroying himself a way of running away, too? Aside from that,” he pinched her chin, “Are you sure you’re not under control of someone? Your team already took the blame for him and you’re still defending him?” Jill slapped his hand, “Stop b*llsh*tting with me. I already explained his reasons.” A strong, domineering voice cut both of them off. “Return to your seats.” Nath took the head seat, ignoring the rest of the people in the meeting room. Without further ado, he picked up their topic. “There was no concrete proof that Agase deliberately dispersed his soul. But,” his gaze landed on Jill, “we also have not enough evidence to acquit him.” Jill stood up, ready to refute but Nath gestured for her to stop. “Whichever the truth is, we will bring him back alive, even if we have to collect each broken piece of his soul from every corner of each and every world." ________ “Ahhhh!” Jill slammed her shoes on the floor. Feng eyed the poor shoes before turning to her, “It’s not your enemy. Don’t vent on it.” Jill glared at her, “Then come at me! Let me vent my anger on you.” Without another word, they went to the training hall. The Reaper’s training hall was packed with hunters from their association. However, aside from the few people in the lobby, they won’t see those others who already started training. Feng scanned his iris and identification card on the teleporter. After booking one of the training rooms, he asked Jill, “What setting?” “Cliffside, thunderstorm.” Feng gazed at her, eyes blank, “Are you sure?” “Stop asking. Just put it in already so I could beat you to a pulp!” Feng shook his head and stopped asking. He knew this girl had astraphobia. Did she wanted to torture herself? Clear, digital noises soon followed as Feng entered the command. A female AI’s voice announced the data has been processed. Then the metal door beside the machine slid open. Soon after the door closed, they felt the wall moving at an incredible speed. However, the floor they’re stepping on did not move at all. Motionless as if nothing happened. Feng and Jill did not speak with each other the whole time. Soon enough, the AI announced that they had finally arrived on the set location.
