Devica PART 15 He found that events that occur at the same time for one observer could occur at different times for another. It shows that space and time were interwoven into a single continuum known as space-time. - Albert Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity. Mary gave the address of her shop when she sent him the opening ceremony invitation. The shop occupied two-storeys of the rented space. The decoration leaned on the chic style but will go well to match different themes. “Mr. Wezel, I’ll wait for you here,” Mr. Lee said before Xei entered the shop. Xei nodded. A whiff of lemon scent greeted his senses the moment he entered. Xei did not spot Mary right away so he asked a passing staff member. “Oh! Boss has a visitor. Please sit here and wait for a while, Sir.” After the staff led him to a table and left, he tried to peer at the other staff’s faces but he had no luck. Come to think of it, I only assumed Raven works for Mary because they were together at that time…. “Dylan. Why did you come unannounced?” As Xei brood over the sudden thought, Mary arrived with a worried expression. “Sorry, I got some free time.” Mary sighed, “It’s okay. It’s just…I’m a bit preoccupied right now.” “Okay, I won’t take so much of your time. But let me ask if you have an employee named Raven?” Xei went straight to the point. He needed to find Nephrite right away. “Raven? No, why?” Mary asked, her eyes filled with curiosity. Xei frowned as he noticed something was wrong with Mary's expression. Mary called his name in the dream. But her expression… “You don’t know anyone named Raven?” “None at all. Did this person offend you? Has anyone told you they saw him here? Maybe he’s a customer?” How could he admit that he saw Raven with her in a dream? He could only agree with her thoughts. “Oh, okay, I’ll tell the cashier so they could notify me if anyone with that name ordered a drink. Anyway, you should go—” “Dylan?!” A voice resounded from the top of the stairs. Mary glared at Xei as if saying “It’s not my fault you came unannounced.” Xei sighed. Well, Xei had to meet this person, anyway. “Zephyr,” Xei calmly replied. A glint of excitement appeared in Zephyr’s eyes. But contrary to the reaction, he sauntered down the stairs. His movements were elegant and tranquil like a leaf quietly fluttering as it descended to the face of the mortal realm. “It’s been a long time.” Xei politely greeted him. “When did you come back?” “This noon. I did not expect to see you here.” “Yes, I only came here to ask for some information. I need to get going soon.” “Alright, I won’t bother you. See you around.” After saying farewell, Zephyr went back to the second floor. “Your brother improved a lot.” Xei complimented. “Yes. And I hope it continues. My brother worked hard.” Mary turned to him, “You know, he really did not want to see you. He was afraid for his symptoms to resurface.” Xei felt sudden layers of unsettling emotions. “Our unsaid affection back then became a poison to him.” Mary made a humming sound, “Love has always been a double-edged sword. You may have said your love for each other became a poison, but for my brother, his feelings for you were also his cure.” “I know. When he said he respects me wholeheartedly, I believed him. “ I know, even if he did that, he never intended to hurt me. That my happiness was his happiness. In any world, he’s like that. _________ The next day… The early morning sun shone warm and bright as it passed through the glass windows, giving a faint glow inside their office building. However, this scene could not even calm Johnny Siegfrid. Despite the cooling system, cold sweat dripped from his forehead. He could feel both fear and anticipation of what the President wanted to say to him at this early time of the day. He turned to his niece and his friend who were both walking after him. “Are you sure you did not offend Mr. Wezel the last time you went to the restaurant?” “I promise, Uncle. We were well-behaved, right, Vio?” “Yes, Uncle Johnny. Trust us.” “Then why would he specifically ask to bring you two,” he whispered to himself. The front desk confirmed their appointment. After that, they told them to go directly to the President’s office on the top floor. Rico was waiting for them at the elevator. “Good day, I’m Rico, Mr. Wezel’s assistant.” He shook their hands. “Are you nervous? Don’t worry. Mr. Wezel needs your help.” He led them to the office lounge beside the President’s office. “Wait for Mr. Wezel, he will be here in a while.” Then, he asked for their preferred food before leaving. Xei did not take long. He apologized for making them wait, “I expect everyone still did not have breakfast yet. Let’s discuss the matter after we have some fill.” He smiled at them, making everyone in the room at ease. As soon as they finished their meal, Xei asked them if they knew Raven. Last night, Xei remembered the day they first met in the restaurant. To make sure of Raven’s existence, he went himself to check the surveillance camera. And as he suspected, Raven was not with Vio and Camilla that day. He already had an idea of what exactly was happening. But to confirm it, he had to see Raven in person. “Raven? Yes, we know him. He’s our schoolmate.” Camilla said. “Yes, if you mean the handsome guy with strawberry blonde hair, then that’s definitely him.” “That’s good then. I need his contact information due to some urgent matters.” “I’m sorry Mr. Wezel, although we wanted to help you and we are sure that you have malicious intentions, we really did not have Raven’s contact information,” Vio said. “True. We intend to befriend him because he was always alone at school. But the day of graduation, he snapped at us after helping him. Since then, we decided to stay away.” Camilla said, her eyes filled with sadness. “I heard from my mother that his uncle was scamming him behind his back. If you wanted to help him, I could give you his full name and send our class picture to search for him.” “That would be a great help. May I know his full name?” “Raven Moonfield,” Vio and Camilla said in unison, proving his existence.
