Brygida rubbed her arms and eyed Halina. “What did you want to talk to me about?”
Halina’s gaze trailed after Kaspian and Stefan, and she didn’t look away. “Ewa told me about your relationship with the villager. I understand, believe me,” she said, lowering her chin with a fleeting wistful smile. “The men from the village are fun for a while, but... their use is limited.”
Brygida blushed. “I don’t know what you’re implying.”
“That man over there—” Halina blew out a breath. “He’ll be sweet to you... until he gets what he wants. But after that, you’ll be nothing to him.”
