CHAPTER 6 The bed was damp. Kaspian brushed a palm across his aching forehead as he slowly sat up. It felt as if an unseen ax had been embedded into his brow. His clothes clung to his skin, and his socks squelched as he shifted to the edge of the bed. The light coming from his window was enough to blind him, and he cradled his head in his hands. Pain jolted through his face. Perun’s bright lightning, even just touching it hurt, especially his chin, which throbbed a steady pulse.
