CHAPTER 6
"Did you get it?"Faye asked as soon as Lola walked back into their shared room. She looked at her with anticipation, her hands already stretching forward to receive it, but Lola shook her head and said,
"Not yet, it wasn't possible. It was still hung around her neck. There was no way to get it without struggling." Lola replied, shaking her head as Faye flopped on the bed and frowned.
"Then what was the need of giving her the hot mug of tea? We should just match in there and take the necklace."She said, heading for the door as Lola held her back and steered her away from the door, saying,
"Have you forgotten we can't? If we struggle with her for the necklace, we may end up breaking it, then the magic in it will be gone. We still have time, we don't need to hurry, besides, I always have a plan." Lola said with a sneer as Faye turned to look at her surprise.
"Plan? What plan? We didn't discuss any plan?"Faye said, surprised.
"I know, but I thought of it in the kitchen. You see, that tea isn't just an ordinary tea. I spiked it so she would be deeply asleep after she took it. That way it will be easier to get the necklace and she won't even notice a thing, and also, due to the fact that she's hungry, she will be left with no choice but to take it. You see now? Lola said with an evil grin as Faye smiled and nodded her head in confirmation.
"This is absolutely genius. This is the reason why you are the smarter twin. I wouldn't think of that in a million years. I am so happy to have you as my sister. Soon I will be the star of the ball."Faye said with a dramatic flair as she hugged her sister tightly as Lola signed and said,
"If only I had an invite to the ball. I still don't get why Prince Derek has only one invitation to Tessa, and you have to use it. What's more is, why did he not give it to us? What did he see in her? She's just a poor maid." Lola said, anger in her voice.
I understand your annoyance, dear sister. Like I said, it had something to do with the necklace. Maybe the glowy thing inside her hypnotized the prince to do so. After all, there are far better and prettier girls than Tessa at school. That is the only reason. But don't fret, I will find a rich boy for you. Who knows, maybe I would be lucky enough to get the king, and I would take any means necessary to get Prince Derek to fall for you."
" Would you really do that for me?" Lola asked with tears in her eyes as Faye nodded her head and said,
"Of course, you are my twin. I would do anything for you." She said with a hug as Lola wiped her tears and said,
"In that case, what are we waiting for? Let's prim you up for this party. It starts in an hour and soon the royal carriage will soon be here to pick Tessa up, but it'll be picking you up instead. So let's hurry." Lola said as they walked into the bathroom to dress up.

"In ten minutes, I hope you know the plan?" Derek said to the driver, who nodded his head and said,
"Yes, I do. Go into town and pick up the fair maiden. You have a royal invite too." He said as Derek nodded his head, pleased the driver was a smart man.
"Exactly, this is her address. I got it from the principal's office. Make sure she has the royal invite before you pick her up. She has sisters, so be sure to pick the one with the royal invitation. That way you won't be mistaken." Derek warned him as the driver bowed his head and said,
"Don't worry, Prince Derek. I won't fail you.I will do exactly as you have said." The driver said as Derek smiled and said,
"Then leave. Hurry before someone finds you here." He said as the driver immediately left the palace premises and Derek turned to head back to his Chambers to get ready for the ball when he heard a voice.
"Who is so important that you are sending a royal driver to pick her up from the town?" His brother's deep baritone voice said, shocking him as he quickly spurned around and said
"Bro-t-ther, what are you doing? I didn't expect you here." Derek said, stuttering a bit before gaining his composure.
Lucien stepped out of the dark with his flowing robes and said,
"Wow, I never knew that i had to report my whereabouts to you when, clearly, it's my palace and I can go wherever I want...whenever I want." Lucien said, growling a bit as Derek bowed his head and said,
"Of course, Brother. I didn't mean it like that. What I meant was, why did you stay in the dark when you could have clearly joined the conversation from the start. I felt your presence and I thought that you didn't like the fact a puny human was here, so I quickly dismissed him and left you to give you your privacy there, as I am sure you have a lot to think about, you being a merciful king after all." Derek lied through his teeth, throughout. He hadn't known that Lucien was there the entire time.
He only hoped that he was able to sway him with words and get back on his good side. His brother might prohibit him from attending the ball and he really needed to see Tessa again.
"You are way too polite for my liking. I am tempted to believe all you said was a lie, but I do not have time to be Petty as you. Just answer my question and I will be gone.
"Please ask your questions, and I will answer them to the best of my ability." Derek said, trying to hide the flash of anger in his eyes as he awaited his questions.
"Good, always when an obedient puppy, weren't you? Just the same puppy with a short tail 100 years back. Anyways, my question is this, who is the person that you were going to invite to my party without my permission?"
"Oh it was just a classmate, no big deal. She asked and I told her no, but she promised to do my homework for the next four years and, as you said, it's a bit boring going to school every ten years just to do the same assignment over and over again, so I agreed. I tried killing two birds with one stone. Besides, I figured it was going to be filled with grumpy vampires and I was going to be damn bored, so it didn't hurt having someone I know to talk to."
"Blah, blah, blah, I need a name. What's her name?"Lucien said, rolling his eyes as Derek tensed. He couldn't believe his brother was so interested in this. If he finds out her name and summons her name during the party. He is going to find out that she looks exactly like his dead bride Zelina and he will take her away from me again. He doesn't want to let this happen. Why was Lucien being this evil?
Why was he always craving what he wanted?
"A name Derek. Don't make me repeat myself." Lucien said.
"Her name is Tess.."
"Lucien, what are you doing here? I have been looking everywhere for you." Eldred said, interrupting Derek as he broke up their little reunion. Although Eldred was a pain in his ass, this time around he was happy that he had him round to stop his brother from prying further into his life.
"Eldred. What do you want now? I told you that I was going to go for a walk to clear my head. I need space." Lucien said as Eldred laughed and said,
"What nonsense. A king like you, and a great one at that, doesn't have space in his dictionary. You have an entire kingdom to rule. There is simply no break from it..
"Good evening Elder Eldred ", Derek greeted him out of courtesy as Eldred looked at him and said,
"You should be preparing for the ball too, Derek. Your presence there is needed as well. Come on Lucien, we still have to pick up the silk you will wear. " Eldred said, almost pulling Lucien out of there as Derek sighed heavily and with relief.
"Thank goodness for that, I was this close to losing my happiness. I sincerely owe you one ." Derek muttered as he made his way to the Chambers.

Tessa dropped the empty mug back on the table as she walked to the window which showcased the full movie as she wiped a year and said,
"Dad....mum always said that the people we lost never really leave. Rather, they watch us like stars and guide us. Are you there? Are you watching along with mum? Do you see what I am going through? Why don't you help me then? Why stay silent? When will all this end? " Tessa complained softly as tears rolled down her cheeks and she wiped them slowly.
Gosh, why do I feel so tired all of a sudden? She murmured as she walked slowly back to the little mat she had as bed as she fell on it slowly.
It must be because of the fact that I am also exhausted and hungry. The tea helped, but not that much. I guess I will just sleep it off."
"Protect me, mum and dad." Those were the last words that left her lips before falling fast asleep.
