After a few months the day was arriving. Families and children from farms and affluent backgrounds arrived at the church to pray for bountiful harvests, riches, or a good life. But as he waited in the dark he knew surely there would be a confession at some point.
The church's fellowship meeting bellowed through the hallways as he looked to ignore it with his ears. Then there was a sound that he hoped wouldn't come as his heart sank. Footsteps.
A door opened to the booth as someone slipped in from the other side. Nothing could be heard but a loud sigh. Linus knew he'd have to wait until this person spoke.
"Oh thou father I have done something horrible," a male voice said from beside him. The words made Linus's hair rise as he spoke. "What did you do son?" Linus said with a grimace. Feeling the man sit mere inches from him he scooted away. It was not time yet.
"I crave the touch of another man. My wife does not satisfy me," was the answer and Linus held back a gag. Really? The first human had to be a strange one, just his luck.
"You must remain faithful to your wife," Linus started, continuing the rise. "But let her know of your intentions. Only then will it set you free."
He could tell the man had visibly relaxed, pushing his shoulders into the back of the pew. "It doesn't hurt to imagine one more time," he spoke as Linus had to barely push into his consciousness. "It's as if he's with me."
A strong pulse wavered under Linus's fingertips as the man moaned beside him softly. He cursed his own father as he moved his hand down and the fangs started to elongate. Bringing himself down to the male he whispered. "You will forget what you desired."
Piercing the skin came too quick as a very sweet flavor came through. The male kept moaning underneath him with a smile. "I don't care if I have the mark of the devil. I'm happy the way I am," the male said.
Taking that as his cue to leave, Linus slipped out past the box only to be hit with a bunch of sweet smells that began to make his mouth water. This was what he was afraid of.
Shoving past all the humans in the hallway of the church became extremely difficult as Linus felt the need to sink his teeth. The more skin made contact made it worse. He was just glad to see his father standing with the priest who seemed to give him a small smile as he approached.
"Your son is getting so handsome," the priest said as Linus clenched his jaw. "The Innocence he has is just charming for someone to make it to adulthood. As children we barely waited till twelve."
"Father," Linus said, cutting the man off before clutching his stomach that started to hurt.
"Well I must take my leave then," Dimitri said as he put a hand on his son's back. It didn't feel reassuring as soon as they walked out of earshot his father spoke.
"You will give in to this bloodlust of yours. The first is impossible. Just pick someone, have some fun, and don't drain them if you want them to live." Then there was a pat on the back before he left.
A fire started to burn in his chest as he let out a gasp, his father walking away from him. The world was starting to blur with only the scent of blood to guide him. This would definitely end badly.
Two women were chatting a short way down the hallway when Linus stepped in front of them. Oblivious of the fact, he had activated his charm getting them to follow him.
Not being able to sense or smell the fact that one was a hybrid both of his hands were held by them as they giggled beside him. What for? He didn't know.
"Remember the story of immortals," one of them said to the other, shutting a door behind her. "I think we have one with us."
Linus couldn't hear them speak much longer as the bloodlust had hit its peak. He couldn't move though as if he was being held down by his own kind.
The other girl was in awe as she saw her friends hand morph into big fluffy paws. For at this moment the young man had passed out and his fangs were out. Could it really be a vampire? Her eyes crinkled with excitement as she stepped closer.
"Is he a vampire?" she asked and her friend nearly growled at her. "Yes Nancy he is a vampire. One that has just woken up," the lady said as she let go. "Just be careful."
Nancy got even closer running her fingers along the males jaw touching the fangs. "So pretty," she says looking down at the rest of him. "I bet he's innocent too."
"Explore if you want," her friend suggested, reassuming the position of holding him down.

Bringing her hand down to his pants, they now flooded down to his knees.
Feeling immense pressure with a blinding headache Linus managed to open his eyes. The woman from above smiled at him. "He's away that's why," she laughed. He was about to ask what was going on until the tightness came again on his lower extremities. His legs were shaking so bad and eyes started rolling. "Why?" he managed to whisper. This experience would definitely not be shared with his father.
"Do you still need blood?" the woman asked and Linus nodded slowly. The crimson liquid cascaded down to his mouth as the assault from below continued. These were usually the sounds he'd hear coming from his father office. Goosebumps racked his skin as the touching finally stopped. A breath was blown in his ear as she spoke again. "I know what you are, but your kind must leave. We just took over this territory," the woman growled in his ears. "Now because you didn't get a chance to ruin humanity your kind has 48 hours to evacuate. Time's ticking."
His body felt weak as soon as the lady let go of him. Her scent was more earthy than human and the aura she executed was demanding. "What are you?" he asked.
The woman's eyes turned golden as she tilted her head. "Wipe her memory first."
Linus barely noticed Nancy until his eyes found her. She clearly had his scent all over her as her eyes went wide when she noticed him looking at her. He mouthed the word sorry as he plunged into her mind, sending her into unconsciousness.
"We are wolves," the one lady declared. "Our kind needs humans too as I am a hybrid. Half human, half shifter."
"I've never met one," Linus mumbled. His father made sure of that as all vampires were trained to stay away from other supernaturals. Dimitri would flip on him if they had to leave. A lot was built over the past few hundred years. Moving all the time was tiring.
"I'll leave," he informed her, but unsure of what else to say. "I'll speak to the leader and the rest is on you."
Picking himself up was hard as his legs shook and the woman was openly staring at him. He was very afraid as he didn't know what she was capable of.
Her eyes glowed as she grabbed his hand, pushing him right into her. He couldn't seem to stop her quick enough as she seemed to have fangs of her own, sinking them into his neck. The piercing pain almost sent him to his knees as he felt her tongue healing the wound. Weird.
"I've ensured your safety but that's it," she says , wiping her mouth. "If a war starts and you keep your promise to keep running you'll be protected. Alpha's honor."
