Exploring: Part 1

581 Words
The time it took to get to Europe was quite long. Two weeks was long enough to get the young male down the feeding off one human every 3 days. His urges were already improving and he didn't seem to know the extent of his powers. Soon he'd reveal the true nature of their kind and hopefully the power won't go straight to his head like I did with most vampires. Being superior was never Linus's goal as it was Demetrius he was fine with being content. "I still have yet to share my name. it's Kenneth," the young man said, swishing a drink in his hand. "I really do thank you for coming back with me. the worst ahead is attending to the Neville's whom you haven't met. Very powerful nobles maybe they're like you and I." As the young man continued to babble Linus sighed as he rolled his own eyes. It seemed he was just avoiding one situation to be thrown into a diplomatic struggle. Hopefully it won't be horrible. Learning the explorer's name Jacques Carter was an eye opener as Linus only learned that Kenneth agreed to only one trip with him. This man was on his way to France and they were to be dropped in England. Currently the deal was to leave Kenneth to help Neville's in a return for more explorations. Linus could tell because of the bags of silver pennies were given to the young man. Him and Kenneth were ushered off the port as soon as they docked. "your assistance is needed at the marquee's residence John Neville," one man said with a bow. Linus could feel the man flare at him as he spoke. "if your guest wants to stay at your residence as you perform your duties that will be appreciated." "No, he will be coming. This man is more skilled than I am," Kenneth admitted, only for the man to shrug. "King Henry the VI is weak and you need to tell me everything!" a voice boomed. "There is a divide in the ones that support him and those that want the throne." "Swear in my life I will not speak!" the male said that was cowering on the ground. Boot marks were present on his back as the man standing held an iron. More insults were about to be hurled but it seemed Kenneth's presence got him to smile. Kenneth approached him with a tight smile. His eyes turned quite sinister with a slight glow. "What are you hiding from the Marquis?" he ordered. "Nothing!" the man shouted with a groan. "That's all I know." Finding this as his moment to step in Linus moved forward into the room. "Those that know nothing always see something. Maybe not with the ears but the eyes," Linus says only for the man to meet his gaze. Images flooded his head of higher nobles consorting with each other. Henry's wife is debating for him. People wanted war where he wanted diplomacy. Oh, such a poor king. "So the king is considered inept of doing all his duties," Linus stated and both the man's and Kenneth's gaze widened. "I'm assuming based on your memories that someone plans on overthrowing him." Shrugging it off, Linus stepped back only to leave the room. "Wait!" the man shouted, reaching for him. "Who are you?" "No one is important at least to those that I've met," Linus mentioned, staring at Kenneth. "We'll continue our lessons later."
