Chapter 2: Sorcha's Temper In The Morning

1201 Words
She woke up late Again! Sorcha groaned as the strong scent of the brewing coffee hit her nose. She had always been sensitive to strong scents like that, and it was the only thing that could wake her up from her slumber. She managed to open her eyes and face the sun that was coming from the drawn curtains. A young lady stood in the room with her back facing Sorcha. She was busy stirring the coffee she just made. She turned slowly at Sorcha with a bright smile. “Good morning ma'am, for you.” She approached Sorcha and handed her the coffee. Her face looked naturally stunning, despite that it was morning. Her brow were perfect lined, except for her disheveled hair that complimented it all. Sorcha pouted before taking the coffee, the coffee was hot and couldn't be taken in a go, she left it at the table beside the bed for a while. Sorcha sat up staring at her phone, “What is my schedule for the day, Mira?” It appears that Mira was Sorcha's loyal assistant. Sorcha asked glancing at Mira, who stood beside her with a tablet in hand. Mira's long curly brown hair was tied to the back in a neat ponytail, and her eyes sparkled as she scrolled through the schedule. From a glance, one could tell that she was satisfied with her job. Staring at the tablet in her hand, Mira replied, her voice calm and professional , “A breakfast with Mr. Karen before dropping at the venue.” “Good, pick out my outfit,” she instructed before moving over to the dressing table. She stared at her perfect body through the mirror. She was finally living the life she had envisioned for herself. After a good stare at herself through the mirror, she went into the bathroom and lasted for almost thirty minutes. Her outfit for today was a pair of light washed beige jeans paired with a mint green off-the-shoulder top. With a pair of neural colored sneakers to complete the outfit. “Nice choice,” Sorcha complimented, satisfied with what she was seeing through the mirror. “My bag, please.” Sorcha was ready to leave the house but seeing Mira's expression. “Your makeup, ma'am.” “I'm fine,” she waved her hand and took her bag from Mira before stepping out of the room. Mira obediently followed behind Sorcha. She stepped on the gas and drove in the direction of the planned breakfast. As soon as the car stopped, Sorcha got out of the car and stared at the man sitting very close to the window of the restaurant. She snickered before strutting into the restaurant. On seeing that Sorcha had arrived, Karen stood up to welcome her. He flashed a charming smile taking in her appearance. The air in the restaurant was cool as it was supposed to be, but sitting in front of Karen was suffocating. Karen's gaze was unusual but Sorcha was trying to get used to it. His eyes speaks of his emotions and intentions towards her. “Go straight to the discussion.” Sorcha glanced at her wrist watch, “I'm a busy person, you know.” She only fawned. “Hehehe, I love your style, that's why I want you to be mine.” She smiled elegantly, “Hmph! I can see you have nothing better to discuss with me.” Right when Sorcha was about to stand up, Karen waved his hand. “Let's have breakfast first, I'm sure you must be famished. I'm used to your big appetite.” Karen joked before calling the attention of the restaurant server. Sorcha could not deny that his words were completely right about her and that was why she was eager to get the breakfast done forever. Their order took longer than expected, “I'm interested in you.” Karen blurted. Sorcha made the rolling of her eyes evident to him, “I want you to always remember the line between us. I am only designing your wedding attire so don't think of me as your love interest. I'm not a homewrecker!” Sorcha laid emphasis on the last part of her sentence. Who would want to work and end up ruining everything she had worked for? Karen knew well enough what Sorcha meant, “Show me the designs you have for us.” He didn't look interested to Sorcha. “I would like to book another date to check out the designs,” Karen intruded before Sorcha could start showing the plan. As Karen spoke, his gaze drifted over Sorcha's face, his eyes lingering on her lips which closed up in a tight grim before meeting her gaze again. Sorcha grits her teeth and slammed her hand on the table. Her temper was never good in the morning, “Don't try to play dumb with me! You and I know that you are only gonna play with fire.” “Why are you being aggressive?” Karen whined childishly. “This is just a meeting between the service providers to the needy.” What kind of service is she providing that they will have to meet up countless times before they conclude. The food arrived at the wrong time, she had to put her anger in check and instead unleashed her rage at the delicate food. She chewed on the food as if she was chewing Karen's skin. “Don't bite too hard,” Karen stretched out a wiper to her, but she deliberately ignored him and the wiper. “It's okay, we can still meet up after deciding on the design now.” She had lost interest already, her only way of calming herself was by biting the food deep until it bled. In 20 minutes, the table was cleared and the air between them was cleared also. “I can see that your love for food caused the ruckus earlier.” “Don't provoke me, Mr. Karen, you know how crazy I can be. Don't you?” Sorcha threatened with a smile. That smile was something Karen never hoped to see today. The smile looked sincere, but deep down he knew how dangerous that half hearted smile was. “Damn it! Show me and get lost.” “You get lost,” she stood up angrily and threw the tissue on the table at Karen's face before she vanished. Karen's face turned red with love, luckily not many people were in the restaurant. Just like that their meeting ended without actually deciding on what to do. “Let's go,” she ordered as soon as she got into the car. Karen had pissed her off already. He must have studied ways to get her angry and vexed. “Stupid fool,” she cursed, still not forgetting what occurred. Her temper had downgraded a hundred times in the past three months. Mira knew something like that would happen and that was why she was trying to shift their meeting to later in the day, but Karen proved stubborn. She started the car and started briefing Sorcha about the venues that they've found on their way there.
