Luther stood up and offered his hand to me. He had that reassuring smile plastered on his face. Without hesitation, I rested my hand on his palm, and he helped me rise up to my feet.
We stood toe to toe with our hands intertwined, staring and drowning at each other’s eyes. He initiated the first move when his other free hand reached out to softly caress my right cheek. Unconsciously, I closed my eyes and relished his warm touch. I sighed in contentment.
