My mind turned from haywire to static before it completely shut down with my heart pounding and taking charge. Its loud thumping was all I could hear and feel as he neared me. All my attention zeroed in on him as he confidently took every stride, my environment all but ignored and forgotten. “Are you done strolling with your friend?” he asked when he stopped in front of me. His voice with a hint of jealousy was enough to snap me out of the trance he unconsciously trapped my mind into.
