I opened my eyes and felt his presence in the room. I turned to seek him out. He was sitting in a chair across the room. I sat up and met his eyes. I saw a softness about him and I fought against my instinct to sigh happily at the way he looked at me. "Jace... I'm so so sorry..." He stood and walked over to me. I closed my eyes as his hand gently cupped my cheek. "Do not apologize to me, Emma. I should apologize to you." I looked up as he got down on his knees in front of me. "I did not mean to scare you.
