As soon as Jace ran out the door, Emma fell to her knees crying. I ran over to comfort her. Ezra stood there growling. I wasn't sure who he was growling at. I looked over at him and could feel the mixed emotions. He was angry, possessive, but.... relieved? Ephraim walked over and tried to calm him. I helped Emma up the stairs to her room. As I enter, I try to push away the ache in my heart as I am reminded that her room is also Ezra's room. I laid her down on his bed... their bed.... and pulled the covers.
