The Buzz About Her

1017 Words
The exclusive CEO elevator doors opened on the third floor, and the entire office seemed to pause. All eyes turned to Arav and Sara as they stepped out, the sight of the reserved CEO with someone by his side creating a ripple of curiosity. Sara felt her palms grow clammy under the weight of so many stares. Sensing her discomfort, Anna leaned in and whispered, “This elevator is for the CEO only. That’s why everyone’s so surprised. Don’t be nervous.” Anna straightened up and addressed the room with a cheerful smile. “Hey, everyone! Meet Sara, the newest member of your team. She’s also my close friend, so I wanted to make sure she had a smooth first day. Please help her feel welcome!” Sara greeted everyone with a polite smile, but the room buzzed with mixed reactions. The male employees couldn’t hide their admiration, while some of the women exchanged jealous glances. Charles, the head of the designing department, rushed out of his cabin to personally welcome Sara. His eagerness didn’t go unnoticed, especially by his girlfriend, Jagapri, who watched from a distance with a fuming expression. Elena, Jagapri’s closest friend, leaned over and muttered, “You’d better be careful, Jagapri. If you’re not, this new girl might steal Charles from you.” Jagapri’s anger simmered as she watched Charles guide Sara to her workstation, his attention completely on the newcomer. --- Anna helped Sara settle into her workspace, handing her a piece of paper with her personal phone number. “Enjoy your first day! Call me if you need anything,” she said with a wink before leaving. Not long after, Charles appeared at Sara’s desk, sitting beside her to explain the team’s current project and her role in it. His thorough explanation and approachable demeanor made it easy for Sara to grasp everything quickly. “You’re sharp,” Charles said, visibly impressed. “If you have any doubts, feel free to ask me anytime.” Sara thanked him, and Charles returned to his cabin. Meanwhile, Jagapri and Elena kept glaring at Sara from across the room, their envy growing. During the break, two of Sara’s colleagues, Sam and Joe, approached her. “Sara, want to grab some coffee with us?” Sam asked with a friendly smile. Sara declined politely. “No, thank you,” she said, smiling gently. To everyone’s surprise, Charles brought Sara a juice instead, personally placing it on her desk. “Here, Sara. I thought you might need a quick pick-me-up.” Sara thanked him again, unaware of the storm brewing in Jagapri’s heart. Elena leaned closer to Jagapri, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Is she an angel from heaven or what? First the juice, and now every guy in the office is running after her—even your Charles.” Jagapri clenched her fists, her jealousy burning brighter. --- Unknown to Sara, the office’s internal forum was buzzing with excitement. Someone had taken her photo through the glass walls of her cabin and uploaded it, captioning it, “The Stunning New Joiner in the Designing Department.” The post was flooded with likes and comments praising her elegance and beauty. Arav, stepping out of his meeting, happened to glance at Peter’s phone, catching a glimpse of the post. Without warning, he snatched the device. “What the hell are you doing?” he snapped, his tone icy. Peter stammered, “Sir, this is from our internal forum. Someone posted the photo, and I was just checking what’s happening.” Arav, who never cared for office gossip, logged into the forum himself. As he scrolled through the comments, his jaw tightened, and his expression darkened. Anna, noticing his reaction, offered quickly, “I’ll have the post removed immediately, sir.” Arav’s glare could’ve frozen a room. “How dare they comment on my woman like this?” he muttered. “Boss, no one knows about your relationship,” Anna reminded him, trying to diffuse the situation. Arav said nothing, but his frustration was palpable. With half the office enamored by Sara, he felt helpless yet possessive. --- At lunchtime, Arav instructed Anna, “Bring Sara to the penthouse for lunch.” Meanwhile, Sara’s desk had turned into a mini gathering point as employees from various departments stopped by, trying to invite her to lunch. Flustered, Sara didn’t know how to politely decline. Anna arrived just in time. “No worries, everyone. She’s my bestie; I’ll take care of her lunch,” she announced before whisking Sara away. On the way to the exclusive elevator, Anna showed Sara the internal forum post. Sara’s eyes widened in shock. “Oh my god! Does Arav know about this?” Anna chuckled. “Oh, he’s already on fire. Be ready to face the consequences.” Sara’s face turned pale. “What did I do wrong?” Anna teased, “Your only mistake is being so attractive.” She laughed at Sara’s innocent expression as they reached the 36th floor. “Take the stairs up to the penthouse,” Anna suggested. “If anyone sees us going straight to the penthouse, it might create unnecessary gossip.” Sara nodded and climbed the staircase. --- Arav was waiting at the garden table, his expression softening the moment he saw Sara. “Why the staircase?” he asked. “To avoid gossip,” Sara replied with a smile. “It was Anna’s idea.” Arav smirked. “Smart.” Aunt July served them a nutritious lunch, and they ate together in comfortable silence. Arav noticed how Sara carefully avoided greasy or unhealthy food, her disciplined eating habits reflecting her graceful appearance. After lunch, they took a stroll in the garden. “So, how’s your first day going?” Arav asked. Sara smiled. “Good. Everyone’s been so welcoming. I feel… special.” Arav, already bristling from the morning’s events, clenched his jaw. “Of course, you’re special. You’ll always be special—my Sara,” he said, his tone possessive yet affectionate. Sara’s smile widened, unaware of the storm raging in Arav’s heart.
