Alpha Connor paced restlessly around the palace. The whole day passed by. Eventually, the evening arrived. After that, the evening turned into night. She was nowhere to be found. The anger in his eyes began to rise.
He heard that a girl was very young studying at school. Yet a large number of his swiftest soldiers were spread throughout the empire. Did they all fail?
Is that girl so powerful? A force that could defeat the Alpha King's warriors?
His warriors were spread out in the kingdom but she was nowhere. She was running towards the eastern forests at her fastest speed. She ran like the wind and did not even make the mistake of stopping somewhere in the middle; she was pushed from her own home with broken limbs.
Tears were flowing from her eyes again and again, blurring the scene, but she was running, rubbing her eyes cruelly.
Even with this stormy speed, it took her almost half an hour to reach the eastern mountains after leaving her house. When she reached the mountains, she turned her neck to see the houses that had been left far apart. She felt that she would die there. She was not capable of such shame and deception.
While trying to climb the mountains, she fell again and again. Sometimes she would cry, sometimes she would sit down tired. She reached a cave inside the high mountains really late in the night and sat on the edge of it. The wind was blowing outside. Outside the cave, the leaves of the bushes and trees bowing to the ground were rustling and making a strange sound.
She was a timid girl. She always feared darkness.
In her heart, she sobbed, "What have I done to endure this pain?" She wondered why Prince Enzo chose her for an unrequited love. Alpha Connor made her his mate and then ordered her beheaded. Did he also do this favor to Daphne? Was he such a heartless king to kill his own mate without question? These thoughts made her cry.
She looked at the bright kingdom looming over the edge of the cave. Prince Enzo died of his own free will, and when he died, Daphen was banished from the kingdom. If she didn't run away, she would be killed too. Why? She wanted to ask this question to the Alpha King, but for that she needed courage to face him and stand in front of him. She could not gather this strength of her lifetime. Sitting there with her knees close to her chest, she started to feel sleepy. She put her head on her knees and started dozing off. She doesn’t know how many nights she will have to spend sleeping on the stony ground without a bed.
Outside, night fell slowly. The people in the distant kingdom were sleeping peacefully in their homes. Alpha Connor, who had left his luxurious silken bed in the palace and wandered restlessly, was deafened by sleep. At the first opportunity, he wanted the girl who had tried to kill Enzo, causing his vivacious brother to die.
But she escaped; an ordinary girl of the Diffen family, who he heard was the most ordinary girl of an ordinary family. That ordinary girl had evaded the King's warriors and escaped. She was neither at home nor in school or anywhere else. He doesn’t know where she is.
Thinking of his warriors, his anger started to rise again. Buzzel and his family were the fastest and most skilled hunters in the world. As the eagles swooped with their heads bowed, they reached the palace.
Seeing them, the king's mind was on fire.
In front of Alpha, Buzzle fell to his knees and apologized to him. He was ashamed that, despite running for the whole day, he could not catch this modest girl. Was she that fast? Maybe yes or maybe circumstances conspired in her favor. However, Alpha didn't know what the hidden secret held.
If she had been in school, she would have been caught. She would have been caught even if she had been in someone else's house, so good luck was with her that she was with a boy from an upright family. He saved her, hid her and informed her of the danger.
Bram erased his memory when she ran away. It was kept a secret by erasing memories.
The king had ordered her to be traced, but the problem was that she was a Diffen girl. She had built a fence of her own strength, making it difficult for her to hear or feel.
She was saving because she had to live.
But who knows how long she could have survived and how long she would have lived? At present she was trapped in these dark caves among the high mountains, and here the Alpha King had lost his composure as he strolled into his room.
He was unknown. As a matter of fact, he was not even aware of what he was doing. His brother was on his deathbed while his mate was running to survive. His entire life revolved around two people, one who was dying, and the other whom he ordered to be killed. He didn't even investigate who the killer was. He was ignorant and his ignorance was going to destroy him.
