Chapter 11 I stand there, watching as the unfortunate sappos drift dangerously close to the enormous vessel, caught in the current, and collide with the ship. They had jumped and abandoned their overpriced yacht and looked like fish on dry land—poor little humans. I grin as I watch the show, feeling the hunger gnawing at me, a constant reminder of my darker nature. Humans are crowding around the railing to get a glance at the spectacle. Beside me, laughter reaches my ears in a high-pitched tone, and it is like nails on a chalkboard. It is the mentally deranged daughter of my friend. None of us know if she is mentally challenged, but I can think of no other reason she is that insane and has no control over her mouth or impulses. I assume we should be glad she doesn’t kill all the humans on
