The loud, relentless ringing of my phone jolted me awake, its urgent tone like a furious boss about to lose patience. I groan as I answer, hearing a male voice roar,”Kristina!”
Dazed and sleepy, I respond, “It is Saga, not Kristina.”
“You don’t say! Damn defiant child. Find her and bring her back. You are not on a vaction on a resort!”
I thought my eardrum was going to explode; his shouting and the pure fury in my uncle’s voice. He is angry at me, of course, but I think he is more fearful about what might happen to Kristina.
Vampires have enemies, and even more so if you are in the royal family. Luckily, I am always overlooked and forgotten by the clan and enemies alike.
I look at my phone, and it’s 5.30 am; I hurry to get dressed. So stupid; we should have shared a room.
