Fifty-Three

1065 Words

Talia’s POV I lost track of the number of hours I’d been held in this empty room against my wishes. Initially, I felt John was only trying to play a sick prank on me and he’d let me go after an hour or two but I quickly realized that he wasn’t messing around. He planned to keep me here and he was going to do just that. I’ve never felt this bad in my entire life and it was all my fault. I didn’t have the foresight to see that there was no way John would ever accept my decision to abandon the ship. I trusted myself too much and I assumed that John would easily let me go. But my mistakes were the least of my worries right now. It was impossible not to think of the threat John had made. I knew he had bouts of recklessness but I never assumed he’d ever take it to a whole different level.
