"Wait, they did what?" Cicero asked, his voice full of outrage on my behalf. When I came home he was actually cooking in the kitchen. When I walked in and looked at him he smiled over his shoulder and said he decided she needed something a little bit more balanced than a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. He then got a look at my expression, put down the knife he was using to chop vegetables and pointed to the chairs at my small kitchen table.
