Chapter 18

Amara "You are coming with us, omega." Magnus's voice was cold, full of authority, like an order with no room for argument. I stilled in my place, and Chole smiled like she'd won the war. No, this should not happen. I have to do something. "Alpha, I..I am the maid of this house. I've been living here since childhood. Can you please not take me? I like this place." I finished my little defense speech, but suddenly the temperature of the place dropped several degrees. "Amara! Do you forget who you're talking to?" Chole hissed and grabbed my arm harshly. It hurt, but I didn't react. "Are you going against my decision, omega?" The chilly voice froze my legs. s**t, now I'd reacted. "No, alpha, I didn't mean to, I..." "You are coming with us. Chole needs you, as she said before." Magnus cut my sentence and declared his decision. Yay, yay! Zia happily howled in my head. We're going out, mate, pack, yoho... She's such a pick-me wolf. When I didn't make a move, Julie screamed, "Go now, pack your bag." Ohh no. I hurriedly ran into my room, my throat burning. I wished I had run away when I'd had the chance. Now I'd made a future where only pain was left for me but do I have a choice. When I reached the hall, they were already outside, so I walked there. Magnus had just stepped into the car. I made my way toward them with my torn bag. Chole smiled mockingly and sat in the front seat beside my mate, while I settled in the back. I guess my heartbreak story started right there. Magnus drove the car himself, but the speed was so fast I quickly grabbed the side handle. "Wow, Mag baby, you drive very well," Chole said, bouncing slightly in her seat. Stupid. Wait, Mag baby? 'He's our mate,' Zia whimpered. Another stupid. Goddess, can't he drive normally? I was about to tell him to slow down, but my stepsister spoke first. "Mag, I think you should slow down. My maid is a weak omega — she could die of fear." My fist clenched. This b***h. Her voice trembled like she was the one who was scared, but she threw it onto me. Magnus looked at me through the mirror, our eyes collided. Something flickered in his eyes, like guilt, but his gaze shifted back to the road. After a few moments, he lowered the speed. My brows knitted tighter. Did he really do that for me? I was still wondering when he said, "Are you okay, Chole?" Pain gripped my heart again. So he did this for her. I locked my emotions away and looked out the window, but I felt like his gaze was drilling a hole into the side of my head. Was he staring at me? Well, who cared. It took a while before we finally reached the Red Stone pack. Magnus was the first to step out of the car, followed by me and Chole. Wow.The view before me was breathtaking. So this was the Red Stone pack. The long walls, the mesmerizing house, the main house — it was something I had never seen before. It was magnificent. "Close your mouth, Amara, you're embarrassing me," Chole hissed at me. Ohh, I closed it right away. "Alpha," everyone bowed at Magnus. He just nodded with a blank expression. Arrogant man. "Luna," they greeted my stepsister too, and she smiled proudly while everyone ignored me. Good, because I hated attention. We went inside. Every single thing was something I had never seen before. "Tina, show Chole and Amara to their room," Magnus said to a female who was also an omega. I hoped I'd make a few friends here. The girl guided us to the second floor while Magnus's room was on the third. So Chole and I were staying on the same floor. Shouldn't I be staying in the servants' quarters? I say this so casually because that's just how my life had been. Chole noticed this too and said angrily, "Umm, Tina, I think you're mistaken. How can my maid sleep inside this house? Take her to the omega quarters." My witty yet shitty stepsister thought so highly of herself. "I'm sorry, Luna, but Alpha told me both of you are staying here." Hearing this, the b***h beside me got pissed, and me, well I wanted to happy dance in front of her but stopped myself. "Okay, thank you," I said politely, and the girl walked out. I turned to the side hoping chole was gone. But instead of going to her own room, she decided to come into mine and opened the door. What the hell did she want? The room was full of luxury I'd never seen before, everything here screaming extreme wealth. "How can he do this," Chole's voice was low, like a whisper. With that, she finally left me. I quickly closed my door and jumped onto the bed, which was so comfy. Was I dreaming? Maybe yes, but the most important question was why Alpha gave me this. He hates me, right? No, he loves us, can't you see, my pick-me wolf spoke again. No, he doesn't. He definitely has a selfish reason behind this. I couldn't understand anything about Magnus. He was a complicated man. It was better to wait for the rejection from him. These words hurt, bruising my already dead heart, but it was the right thing to do. I sighed and went into the bathroom. I almost screamed — holy, even this bathroom was bigger than my previous room. This was the first time I was happy. So I took a long bath, relaxing my muscles, and lay on the fluffy bed. I didn't realize when I fell asleep, but I woke up when someone knocked on my door. I looked around, trying to figure out where I was. Damn, I'd slept the whole afternoon — how am I supposed to sleep tonight? I opened the door, and a new omega stood there with a small, formal smile on her face. "Good evening, madam, the dinner is ready, please come." "Ohh, okay," I said with a genuine smile. The girl left, but something hit me like thunder. Wait, come for dinner? Did she mistake me for Chole? Why did she say this instead of telling me to come make the food? It would be better if I went downstairs to take a look. Without changing my clothes, I ran stupidly, my steps wavering — when I collided with a hard wall. No, a man, I guess.
