Chapter 16Frye roused at Wach’s sudden call. He tried to rise, but Markle kept him seated. “We can’t run anymore. We wanted to get back to your village anyway.” Regretfully, Frye shook his head. “Not like this, Markle. They’ll kill us.” Suun and Janna appeared from around the tree, Varner and Wach behind them. “A lot of good that did,” Suun said, placing her hands in her hips. “Just tie them up,” Janna ordered harshly. “We’ve wasted too much time already.” Varner grabbed at Frye and quickly bound his hands in ropes. Another length tied his feet together. Markle got the same treatment. But instead of getting Markle to his feet, Wach pushed him over sideways.
