The minute I'm home, I run into my father's arms. My arms are wrapped around his neck, and he lets out a chuckle before kissing me on my cheek. "Welcome home my darling. How was the drive?" His eyes are filled with joy, and I can't help but smile back. "Long... as always... I had to stop for gas, and seriously dad... it's so damn expensive these days..." My dad starts laughing at my complaining, and I laugh with him. He's a man in his mid-fifties, and still very handsome. His mate, my mother, were human, but they didn't care. They just had to keep me a secret. You see, to some people, the mix of species is an abomination, and that was how the former Alpha at Crescent Moon felt. When mom died when I was 15, I started living with my aunt. My poor, sweet, innocent aunt who to this day, have no idea werewolves exist. I sigh and grab my bag. "Are you staying for your birthday?" My dad asks as I place the pink duffel over my shoulder. "Of course I am!" I beam when he asks. "It's not every day your favorite daughter turns 18" I grin, and he mumbles something about me being his only daughter, and I place my arm in his. "Let's go home" I say and smile. He walks me into the cabin he has lived in his whole life. It's small but cute. When we pass the hallway, we immediately end up in a spacious kitchen and living room. a huge 50" TV is hanging on the wall above the cozy fireplace, and a large, grey U-shaped sofa is in the middle of the room, resting on a large, white carpet. When I turn around, I see the old kitchen. The one I remember from all the photos. From the living room there is a staircase going up to the second floor where the two bedrooms of the cabin and the one bathroom is located. I sigh and start walking upstairs. I find my bedroom and my eyes light up. The bed is huge. Bigger than the one in my apartment. It's a light, grey king-sized bed with a tall, soft mattress, white sheets and pink covers. I apparently have a walk-in wardrobe and a balcony. "Oh my god, daddy! This is gorgeous!" My jaw is practically on the floor, and I can't help but groan when I jump on the bed and feel how soft it is.
It's been two days since I arrived in Pack Lands, and today, when the Alpha is back in the territory, I have a meeting with him. I stand outside a set of black double doors and wait for him to call me in after I knocked. When he does, I open the door and freeze. It's John... the man I met in town just a few days ago. "It's you" I say, more eager than I meant to, and my mind goes blank when his eyes meet mine.

"It's you." I hear the voice I've been dreaming about for the past two days now. The small, timid voice that belongs to my mate. I look up and look into her striking green eyes. Her red hair reaches her to her waist almost. Her skin is creamy white, her lips are the softest pink I've ever seen. I look further down. She has a beautiful hourglass figure and skinny legs going into a dark pair of skinny jeans. My eyes snap up to meet hers. "Elizabeth." One word, but the only one I want to say. She's my mate... The one I've been waiting 30 years for. She just didn't exist before 17 years ago. "I didn't smell a wolf on you when we met... how are you here? In my territory?" The question comes out a little harsher than I intended to, and she furrows her perfectly shaped brow. "Do you think I tell strangers that I'm a half-breed? Or that I tell them the wolf thing in general?" She challenge back, and I can't help but smile. She's so small, and when she's agitated, she's even cuter. "My name is Elizabeth Harrison. My father is a werewolf, my mother was human. Your father didn't approve of my dad having a human mate, so they never told anyone here about me..." She looks down, and I fight the urge not to go over to her and wrap my arms around her. "When do you turn 18? We're mates, but I need an heir... With you as only half wolf... Do you know if you can transform yet, or don't you know till your birthday?" I trail off mid-sentence, needing to know. She shrugs. "Don't know, but I don't think so. I've never felt a wolf or had anything that a wolf has, so I think I'm just human with a little mix of wolf DNA." Her eyes shine a little, and before I can say anything else, she's running down the hallway, back to her cabin. I have to know more about her... Have to know her... I grin to myself. Oh poor mate... You may not have your wolf, but all female half-breeds get the heat from they're 18, and it is twice as strong as a full-bred wolf. And when she feels it, I'll be there to help her through it all.
