Mom didn’t say anything to me throughout the ride to the grocery store. Normally, she usually went alone for this, I guess she just wanted me out of that house.
We got all that we needed and headed back to the car. Tess was supposed to come with us, but Mom changed her mind.
“Are you happy here?” Mom suddenly broke the silence that had lingered for way too long. Aside from the ‘yes’ and ‘no’, she mumbled to me while I was selecting the groceries according to our shopping list, she didn’t say another word to me.
I am a big disappointment. I wonder what Greg would think of me. This would affect my mom’s new marriage, I should have known better. This was selfish of me.
