Chapter 1

"Cris, I really love you!!!" a low man's voice echoed in the dimly lit cold concrete underground garage, startling Kelvin that his car keys almost fell on the ground. He was just on his way towards his parked Lamborghini, but who would have thought that he would witness a confession in this dark, cold place? "What did you say?" Kelvin flinched when he heard that cold, husky and deep voice as though he was the one the man was talking to. Perhaps, he reacted like that because the man sounded so damn intimidating. His tone heartlessly cold. What seemed like a romantic confession, seems to him the man just confessed that he killed the other man's mother! Why does he sounds so angry? Being in love with the same s*x was not a crime. Or maybe he's just a bigoted jerk! "I said I love you," Kelvin cringe when he heard the pleading underlying the man's voice. It doesn't sit well with him, being a gay man himself to heard someone with the same preference begging for another man's love. "I love you so much! I already fell for you the first time I saw you." The man now sounded very emotional. Kelvin pressed his fingers against his keys and held his breath waiting for his response, but only silence followed. He wanted to peek but he thought it was not the right thing to do. He waited until finally, he heard the man's reply. "Is that all?" was all he responded causing Kelvin to gasp in disbelief. 'Wah… he's so cruel.' "W-what?" the man sounded like he was utterly shocked. "Tell me, what do you want?" "I… I've been in love with you since the beginning. I've been with you for two months now but you have never said anything about how you feel about me. Cris, I… all I want is… I just want you to love me back." 'Oh, so he's not a bigoted jerk. But maybe a closeted case..' Kelvin thought while he listened. Though it's heartbreaking to hear the voice of the other man, because he sounds he was at the verge of breaking down. The other man's voice still didn't soften even a little bit after hearing him. Instead, he sounded even more menacing as he responded. "We're done," he said nonchalantly without a care in the world. There was simply no trace of warmth in his voice at all. "W-w-what?" "I won't repeat myself." "W-why? Cris, what a-are you saying? This is not… The contract I signed clearly stated that I would be your lover for three months! It's only been two months, but now you're saying we're over? What do you mean by –" "Mr. Song… didn't you properly read the contract?" the man's tone became even colder, almost harsh. "Cain, come over and read the condition he forgot to read." Kelvin blinked his starlike eyes. Shocked to the bones from hearing their shocking conversation, "A contract? Oh goodness, what are they saying?" Kelvin could tell that the situation was getting worse so he knows that he really needs to leave now but if he moved from his spot, they would definitely see him. So without any choice, he could only stay hidden and listen even though he didn't want to. "Mr. Song, here is one of the two conditions from that contract you signed." Another man started talking. "The contracted lover can demand anything except for one thing; love or affection. Once the contracted lover demands to be loved in return, the contract will automatically become null and void." Kelvin was so shocked he couldn't stop himself from taking a peek at them. He just couldn't believe what was happening. He couldn't believe that something so outrageous as this was happening in real life. 'Cause really, a contractual lover? Kelvin thought that only happens in movies... But when he finally saw the guy who's pleading, his hands suddenly flew to his own mouth. 'Isn't that Rei? The famous Asian Hollywood Actor?! He's gay?!' He couldn't believe his eyes. Why would a very successful man like him would beg for a man's love? More importantly, their relationship was contractual?! That blockbuster actor, Rei Song, was some ruthless man's contracted lover?!! The entertainment world would be shaken if they found out about this!!! Kelvin's doe gray eyes then shifted to the other man but he couldn't see his face clearly because he had his back face to him. "I warned you long ago. I don't do love and never will. And you of all people should already be well aware of how I deal with anyone who breaks any conditions in the contract." The man said and Kelvin couldn't help but shivered as he watched Rei fall on his knees, clutching the man's leather pants. Pleading, begging.. It's heart breaking to see the almighty god that every female worship looked like a pitiful man, while he begs for something he would never have. Then just like that, he was dragged away by another bulky man in black towards another car. When the car where Rei Song boarded was gone, Kelvin finally came back to his senses and quickly hid his self again. However... "Come out. I know you're there. NOW!" The man ordered and he was so shocked that he just froze there for a long long while. Kelvin knew he was talking to him and he knew that he was a man who didn't want to repeat himself so holding his breath, he finally stepped out. "Come here," the man commanded and Kelvin slowly lifted his face. He was incredibly nervous. He couldn't remember if anyone ever made him feel this scared and nervous before in his entire life. As soon as their eyes met, Kelvin almost shout out loud. 'Gah! Isn't he Cris Yoon of B3ST?! Kelvin knew he's handsome but really? His pictures and music videos didn't do him justice. Because now, he was sure that he was a hundred times more handsome than any celebrity he had ever seen in his life. And that's not an exaggeration. He was tall. His inky dark hair looked like it was combed by his fingers and swept back away from his face. He had a strong, defined and masculine jawline - it was perfection in his eyes. He just looked too good to be true. He was utterly impressed, and he had never been impressed by a man's beauty like this before. How could a mere mortal man look this stunning? No wonder such a successful man like Rei Song was begging for his love! But this stunning creature, was glaring down at him. His eyes were hostile, making him want to shrink to the floor and disappear. The way he looked at Kelvin was definitely the definition of the phrase, if looks could kill. "Who are you? A paparazzi?" Kelvin flinched back from the resentment in his voice. His ice cold eyes glimmered with a dangerous light and it chilled him more than the freezing temperature. He couldn't help but think that this man was definitely the perfect example of the inhumanly beautiful demon king he would often times read in webnovels. After swallowing a mouthful of saliva, Kelvin forced his self to respond. "No, I'm not." He shook his head but the man's eyes narrowed and then, he moved his feet, walking closer to where he's standing. Every step he took felt like a ticking time bomb to him but surprisingly, he was able to hold his ground despite his knees shaking a little. When the man stopped just less than a meter before him, he couldn't help but bite his bottom lip. The man was studying him, looking at him like he was some prey. Kelvin couldn't look at him straight, because he knew damn well that with just one look into those eyes, 'dangerous' was an understatement to describe him. "Little lamb… did you hear everything?" he asked, his gaze seemed deadlier than the sharpest dagger. He was definitely glaring at him like he wanted to kill him. Kelvin had never seen eyes as beautiful as his but also as deadly cold as his. He had such killer eyes that could pierce through anyone's soul. "I'm sorry, I… I didn't mean to –" Kelvin managed to answer when the man suddenly raised his hand towards his neck. He flinched in fear and immediately shut his eyes, thinking that the man was going to strangle him to death. But that didn't happen. Slowly, Kelvin opened his eyes. He did not say a word. He was solely focused on his bright red knitted scarf. For some reason, the daggers and the ancient glaciers in his eyes seemed to have been washed away and was suddenly replaced with an odd, calm blankness. Kelvin looked down and when he saw his fingers fiddling with the edge of his knitted scarf, Kelvin simply froze again, his heart beating so erratically as if a hammer was inside his chest. "Red…" he murmured to himself as he dropped his hand and then the look in his eyes changed again. He didn't look harsh and cold anymore as he did moments ago. "Go home," he said and just like that, then he turned to leave. Kelvin exhaled as he watched him moved away from him. He should've run away now that the demon finally let him go but he just stood there, unmoving, his gaze watching his retreating perfect and graceful figure. Closing his fists tightly that his knuckles turned white, he suddenly called out. "Wait, Cris, please wait!" The chauffer had already opened the door for him to enter. Kelvin voice echoed in the cold garage and Cris couldn't help but stop. "What?" he replied without turning.. Feeling bold for once, Kelvin walk towards him. He was suddenly high on adrenalin and he felt brave. His knees had stopped trembling and the fear in his eyes was replaced with something else – resolve. "Was everything you said true? That you do not do love?" he suddenly asked when he stop and stood less than a meter behind him. "Are you really sure you won't fall for anyone?" The man finally turned to look at Kelvin. His dark brown eyes assessessing him with disbelief and then, interest. "From what I understand, you're willing to make someone your lover as long as he won't demand for your love, right?" Kelvin asked again. Silence reigned between them for a moment. The man stared at him through narrowed eyes. He seems astonished as if he was looking at a certain unbelievable creature. "Why are you asking?" his lips now curved up in a wicked, amused smile but his tone was still obviously disbelieving. "I'm just curious. Is it true?" he answered. He was unbelievably calm. "So what if it was, and what if it's not?" Kelvin pressed his lips tight. "If it's true, how can you be so sure? Do you really believe that you will never fall for anyone? Ever?" What he got as a response was a low chuckle. The man looked like a devil when he laughed. His laughter didn't reach his eyes, but somehow, he seemed a bit amused? Kelvin wasn't sure. His expressions were just too tricky for him to figure out. "Red, tell me. What exactly are you trying to say?" he fiddled with the edge of his scarf again, his thin lips still curved up to a dangerous and mischievous smile. "I… I'm just saying that I don't think you'll be an exception. Maybe you just haven't met that special someone who has an axe to force your heart open." "Little Guy, are you saying you want to try me?" Looking at his eyes, Kelvin fell silent for a moment before he nodded his head. His eyes were determined. He laughed. Frowning, Kelvin tried to show him how serious he was but when he said he was serious, his words seemed to have only made the man more amused. After he stopped laughing, the man spoke. "Are you perhaps thinking that you could eventually make me fall in love with you? Too bad... Countless men and women already tried that and besides… I don't think you are capable of that." His eyes traveled from his head down to his toes. "And you heard me correctly, I don't do love. Never. So don't waste your brain cells thinking about it." his voice was smoldering, despite the smile on his face. But Kelvin was unfazed. "How about you try me? I promise, I will not demand for you to love me back." He promised, even pressing his hand in his chest, causing the man to laugh again. "Red, you're such a brave little boy." His smile faded and a hard edge crept into his voice. "Please stop calling me Red! My name is Kelvin. And I'm not a little boy! I'm about to turn twenty." The man's expression abruptly shifted once again and he chuckled. His laugh seemed to have some sort of magic as it lingered in his ears. His laughter was unexpectedly so pleasing. "Indeed, you are one brave little boy, Red. Do you know who I am?" "Yes. I think so..." Kelvin started fidgeting. He really didn't knew Cris. He just knew him because he's from B3ST, but their band already disbanded and Cris went solo. Aside from that he didn't knew anything else... "... No. I really don't know you." "And yet, you're still here blindly offering yourself?" He just nod his head, because that's correct. Though Cris just smirked at him evilly. He stared at him from head to toe for the second time and licked his sexy lips and then take a stepped forward. Then his long, graceful finger lifted his chin. "Little lamb, let me tell you this. You're standing before the gates of hell right now. Doing this means ruining your life. Are you ready to step down to hell with me?" his eyes blazed. A warning was burning within it and Kelvin knew he was more than serious and that the danger was real. His intensity made him shudder slightly but his warning wasn't enough to make him give in. She had never been this brave - or crazy- in his life. She was already imagining lots of things in his head. The possible outcome of this madness he was trying to throw his self into, of course terrified him but… every time he thought about her future, was there anything scarier to him at this point? Wasn't he looking for something like this? For a man like him? As the silence dragged on, the man's lips curved up into a triumphant, mocking smile and his hand landed on his tiny head. "Hell is not a good place, at least for a little lamb like you. I'm sure you're aware of that. Now run away while this demon king is still being nice and calm." He whispered. And then, he turned to leave, so casually, as if nothing just happened. But after three steps, Kelvin stopped him again. "This hell you're talking about...I.. I wanted to see it myself." he mumbled, and then Kelvin clenched his fist, looked at Cris, determined and full of resolve. "Bring me there!" **********
