Alexa had finally fallen asleep, and we got her moved up to a private room. They had turned the air as cold as they could get it and brought in fans and pointed them at her. She was covered in cold wet towels. Her body had cooled down some but not enough. You could feel the heat coming off her still. They had put two IVs in her and were pumping as much fluid into her as they could, so she didn’t get dehydrated. I wanted to hold her so much, but it seemed like every time someone or something touched her, she was in pain.
