Alexa's POV
I woke up the next morning wrapped up in Colter's arms. I was warm from his body heat and comfortable. This was the best night's sleep I have had in a long time. I wasn't haunted by nightmares. Meeting with the counselor was extremely helpful and it felt great to talk about things. I was able to tell her things that I haven't been able to tell Colter. My biological father showing up also helped. It seemed to fill a void in my heart that I didn't know I even had. I still had so many unanswered questions but the thought of overthrowing the council is something that I really want to do. I just hope that he will agree with me and help us. I knew that regardless of whatever happened Colt was on my side.
