24. My first Party

"You are not sleeping?" I startled by the sudden voice.

"Yeah, I am actually sitting and sleeping in the floor" I replied even I know it is a bad joke.

"I am serious; you are not sleeping because there is no place?"

I interrupted, "No, I used to wake up at 6 and it's almost the time so I can't sleep" He nodded understandingly.

"So why you are up" I asked him.

"Same here, not able to sleep".

"I don't think you are a morning person, am I right?"

"How do you know?" He asked me.

"First you answer" I need an answer to my question not another question.

"Yes, I am not a morning person. Ok... now answer mine... How do you know?"

"That day when you returned my mobile, your eyes are blood red. Therefore, I guessed you did not sleep and you came early morning to return the mobile"

"Yes, I returned you are mobile and went to sleep"

There was an awkward silence between us. I realize this the first time we are having a civil conversation without pulling each other's leg.

"How was the party? I guess this is your first party"

"Party is nice. Basically we spoke a lot to get know to each other of course, I don't know anything about you guys and played dumb charades and straight face and they started to drink and I slept" I saw a twinkle in Manik's eyes when I mentioned straight face.

Last night, fab 5 is so sweet that they played some kids game with me but I heard they would do some wild things when they used to Party. When they party in Chennai, Cabir asked Alya to kiss Mukti in lip when Alya chose dare while partying and Alya did without hesitation. Navya almost freaked out to me when she informed me about this. Basically they changed their style for me.

"Who won in straight face" Manik asked eagerly.

"That's me" I said proudly.

"Seriously" He asked clearly with doubts.

"You are able to earn your spur, even with Cabir's teasing" I blushed as I remember all the comments made by Cabir when Dhruv and I are playing.

I nodded and chuckled to his disbelief.

"It is always me or Cabir used to win in Straight face." Now I know the reason for his twinkle in his eyes. So they used to play these games sometimes, and it is not solely because of me.

"So we are capable of having a normal talk" I realize as we are having a normal conversation without pulling each other's leg for the first time.

"I guess, we are capable of" He deadpanned.

Awkward silence filled around us that we can hear Cabir's snoring.

"Thanks, for that day to return my mobile and I doubt I would have done the same if I was in your place" I tried to grow our conversation.

"It's no big deal, it is just giving your mobile to you".

"No, I would not have postponed my sleep as you did"

"So you love your sleep"

"Yes, everyone do. It is refreshment, we will forget about the pain, problems, stress everything for a while. It gives you the energy to face those problems next day when you wake up. Everyone would have experience that a problem difficult at night is resolved in the morning after the committee of sleep has worked on it. I do really love my sleep, I will not sacrifice it until there high alert situation."

"What if those problems are not letting to relax and sleep?" He asked with his eyes fixed on the morning blue sky.

"Sometimes understanding what the problem is may easily lead to the solution. If we can really understand the problem, the answer will come out of it, because the answer is not separate from the problem. Keep the problem at distance, don't keep to close to lose your mind".

He didn't remove his eyes from sky so I continued.

"Did you feel like you attended boring psychology class?"

"Kind of" He replied with a smile and mirrored his reaction.

"This scene is so nice and peaceful. I think I should try waking up at morning" He pointed at the calm and beautiful sky.

"For that you need to sleep at night not at morning" He nodded his head and give thumbs up.

"And this is my favourite place in this house" I informed him.

"Not that?" He asked by pointing on Sofa. "I thought you like sleeping on the Sofa and that is your favourite"

"Balcony is my first favourite and then only the Sofa. How come you know I like sleeping on the Sofa?"

"Navya told me"

"When?"

"You really like asking questions? When Navya attended the party at Chennai and I dropped to the flats and she asked me to come inside the flat. And you were sleeping on the Sofa in the hall. At that time, Navya informed you like sleeping the Sofa rather than bed. Enough???... Happy???"

"A kind of" We both laughed together.
