19. Never Say Never

After 5 days of Pongal holiday, I returned to Pune. Holiday went great. I am sure I would put on at least 3 to 4 kg in these 5 days. Whatever Amms consider things as food, she will feed me. In 24 hours a day, I was eating ... sorry fed by Amms almost 10 hrs. She compares my current weight with that my ten years ago. I was overweight at my childhood and it is ok to be fat and chubby when you are child. As we grow we need to maintain our weight, but she didn't agree. She imagines me as white worker who is only working without food or sleep.

One biggest surprise is Abi was selected as trainee doctor in Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital where he needs to practice one year

One biggest surprise is Abi was selected as trainee doctor in Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital where he needs to practice one year. He wanted to do MS but my Chitthappa (his father) told him to practice 6 months in a hospital and work as doctor in our place for one year and then to do MS. My Chitthappa is always right.

According to him experience is the best teacher, if he practice and work for one year, he will get better knowledge which will be helpful while doing MS. And also Abi accepted that his father told is correct and now he will stay be with me in Pune for 6 months and may extend to another 3 months based on his performance. I was so happy to have him in Pune.

There are some persons in our life that you can trust them more than yourself that you are ready to walk with your eyes closed having that person as your eyes. I can trust both Navya and Abi. So far Navya is always there with me and for the first time when I came to Pune, I felt lonely. But some how I managed to stay without her. And now Abi came, it is like I was no longer alone. Yes I know I am a dependent person but my initial life in Pune gave me hope that I can live without depending anyone.

We found a 2BHK flat near my PG which is 10 minutes walkable distance from my office and 30 minutes for Abi. Abi will any way bring his bike so it will be easier for him also.

"We need to present the project today", Shahid said in nervousness. Shahid is not outspoken person and he joined the project two months back so he was so nervous about presenting the project.

Aryaman have already sent the project module and client have approved it, today the project need to present through video conference. In Dexterity, Manager usually presents the project to client but our Harshad is always special and he won't follow any rules.

If manager not able to present, project lead need to present but our TL is on leave due to illness, so now one of the team member need to present it to the client. Shahid is so nervous that what if client point at him to present.

"When is the conference" Soha asked looking at me, when my eyes level at her she avert to Aryaman.

"It is schedule at 9.00 am BST"

"Why this client are scheduling conference in the lunch time. Why can't they schedule it in the morning?

"Because there is 4 hours 30 minutes time difference between India and London. To schedule meeting at morning in India, they need to come mid night to office" I informed her but there was no response from Soha.

"Nandhini, Why Harshad called you when we were on holidays. Is there is any problem. He didn't call me" Aryaman enquired me.

"He told he called you but you are not reachable"

"If he called me and I was not reachable, I would have got message that Harshad tried calling me. But I didn't receive any"

So Harshad didn't call Aryaman. It reminds me the conversation Navya and I had when we were in Chennai.

"Nandhini, he needs you to come to Pune and the mail missing is lame reason to bring you back"

"Why he need to bring me to Pune when the whole DC is on holidays"

"I think he is interested on you" Navya's statement nauseated me.

"Don't be ridiculous"

"I am not the one being ridiculous here. Just think about it. I am not saying this because of this one incident, in the past also he played"

"Navya those were just accidents"

"Accidents happens once or twice, not one whole month. No manager ask his female employee to stay late to finish some stupid piece of work which can be done in next day also. Don't defend him that those are not stupid work and need to finish ASAP"

"But Navya, there were no others who can help him, Aryaman was leave on those one month due to sickness."

"Aryaman's absence may be his luck and he used it. Don't be so blind to support him. Those works given to you are at late evening around 6 and a manager knows how much time needs to complete a work and he very well know those work needs at least 4 hours to complete." Navya paused and continued.

"Why he didn't handed those to you early if that task is so urgent knowing Aryaman is on leave and no other in the team knows the technology, other than you two" I have no answer and Navya continued.

"These are looks like plan to make you to spend time with him alone. I am not saying he is planning to physically harass you but as far know, he is interested on you. Just watch his move from next time"

"Nandhini, anything serious?" I was brought back by a tap in my shoulder.

"What did you ask?" I asked Aryaman assuming he must be the one who tapped on my shoulder as he is standing next to me

"Why did Harshad called you? Anything serious?"

"No, nothing serious, he called me to confirm that client approved the module."

I need to confirm whether Navya's doubt is true or not. Soha was again starring and ignore me again when I saw her. I need to speak to her, she is acting weird from the morning. She continued ignoring till I got her alone in café coffee day in the evening.

"What is your problem Soha?" She reminded silent.

"Why are you acting weird from the morning?"

"I need an answer. Just spit it out".

I don't like when people ignoring me, it feel like getting rejected and I am no longer wanted in their life. Why can't people just realise the purpose of mouth and short out their problem instead of playing those stupid ignoring games.

She didn't even move, settled like a rock in her seat.

"I am damn serious. If you are not care to explain, I will just forget that I have met a person named Soha" may be my tone or words, Soha opened her mouth finally to speak.

"I saw you in Chennai DC".

This is enough for me to understand why she is ignoring me. Opened my mouth to explain her but she overtook me.

"I don't need any explanation. How can you do this to me Nandhini? You know me how crazy I am for Manik, but still you didn't informed that you are going for Manik's programme. You ditched me Nandhini. I didn't expect this from you. I shopped one whole day that too with you for this but I am not able see and speak to him. But you sang a song along with him. I can't even see him close, I was sitting in the last row waiting for chance to speak him but no" I remained silent for her to finish. Actually she is anger on me not because I didn't inform her about going to the program but upset on herself that she cannot speak to him.

After she finishes her complains, I explained her about Navya's surprise and pacify that she will meet Manik one day in person, blah ... blah... blah. Soha was on the verge of crying like a 5-year child lost her candy.

I was irritated by Navya's continuous laugh.

"Navya, stop. It's irritating"

"Then I achieved my target" and continue her laughter.

"It look nearly 2 hours to pacify Soha. God! She was such a child"

"Day by day I find Soha is interesting. More interested for Manik". I know Navya stress the last part to tease me.

"Okay, any other sweet encounter with him, have you met him after your meeting in Chennai".

"I never want to see that arrogant Eiffel tower ever again"
