14.Mr. Attitude

I was totally tongue-tied standing like a statue there with many audiences around. I feel strong gaze in my direction. Manik is observing me as if I am an alien landed on his house, clearly noting down how my reaction changed when Cabir mentioned him as Manik.

I have hated Harshad to call me and ignored his call before, but now I am really glad he called me. It is better to hear some nuisance from my stupid manager than standing awkward in front of lot of many audiences.

Navya gave a sympathise look seeing the caller id. I went away from there to only compose myself otherwise who wants to hear Harshad's irritating voice. I spoke with Harshad, make me regret my decision to attend the call. After finishing I just turned and see a lady is standing and watching me. She is so lean and one foot taller than me with her shinning dark brown eyes glancing me. She has endearing nature same as that Cabir. Both can make you forget your worries when they are around you with their charm. For a moment I felt I have seen her somewhere. To my surprise she also asked me same.1 a

"Have we met before? It felt like I have known you before".

"Seriously I too felt the same" I answer her with a smile.

"What is your name?" she encountered out of curiosity.

"Nandhini and your name?"

"Mukti vardan" and I got where we met.

"Military uncle daughter, studied in the KVS school till fifth grade, correct?" I was exited.

"Yeah, I got now. We stayed in same street. My family left after my fifth grade due to my father's transfer. Wow, it's really long time ago we met but still we could recognize each other. Strong connection we have isn't it?"

"Yeah, those days really enjoyable days. Though you become so lean but your face didn't change that much."

"You too, still with those chubby cheeks"

"What are you doing?" I asked her.

"Band member of Fab 5, music band".

"Wow, I know fab 5 in out. I know one person of who is crazy fan of your's" Though Soha is crazy only for Manik, I can't admit that to her in our first meeting, right?

"Oh...nice to hear that. What are you doing"

"I am a software engineer working in Dexterity"

"Oh, cool and we are also going there tom..."

She was cut by two people coming towards her, may be his other two band members.

Mukti introduce me to Dhruv and Aliya.

First impression of Dhruv is that he is very sweet and serene person, everyone will be fond of him because of his simple and charming nature. Aliya is total opposite to Dhruv that anyone who is meeting her for first can easily figure out that she is the fashion diva of the band. She is same height as me might be short and cute member of Fab 5.

After our introduction, we just moved towards fighting birds. Navya and Cabir are fighting, seems there is no stop for their fight. I enjoy the situation as Manik standing in between Navya and Cabir helpless, trying to calm down both but his attempts goes directly to recycle bin.

Did I inform before. I hate tall creatures that they make me feel inferior for my height though I am not so short. Manik is so tall may be 6.1 that gives me impression, he seems he is not as fashionable as Aliya but not as carefree as Cabir. He carry on his attitude with ease. His dark brown chocolate eyes darted towards me as I move towards them, if I didn't have bad image of him due to our earlier encounter, I would have allowed myself to swim in his pool of chocolate in his eyes.

"Nandhini, what's wrong with you? He is the Mr.Attitude who even don't know spelling for Sorry and you are admiring his eyes...seriously Nandhini??"

I clear my head and walked towards them when Manik frustrated and shout at both Cabir and Navya to stop their fight and they paused for some seconds and continued. I am enjoying the situation which makes Manik suffers that I wanted to stop Mukti, Dhruv and Aliya going towards them but to my misery the advanced towards them and suspended their fight.

I may here sound like bad friend to Navya but I know Navya is tigress that she can handle any situation on her own and also Cabir is harmless and more than that their fight is so cute like two small kids fighting for one Barbie doll. Manik gave long sigh that he holded for long time as their fight stopped.

He looks at me "I thought you are not the only person in the world to throw s**t on others, but your friend fails me. You both are perfect best friends".

What the hell.I really annoyed with his usage of words and he has no right to say anything about Navya, "Mind your language mister and fighting needs two people and your friend is not standing silently without uttering any word". I felt bad for involving Cabir but he seems he didn't mind and smile at me.

He ignored my previous comment.

"You will top the chart of the most irritating persons in the world"

"After you Eiffel tower"

"Wow Manik named Nandhini as mickey mouse and Nandhini named him as Eiffel tower, nice naming sense" Cabir try to divert us.

"Why mickey mouse, it seems cute not like offending" Navya asked with confusion.

"Manik is the only person in this world who gets irritated by Mickey Mouse for its cute antics. He has strong hatred for Mouse. I some time doubt he was a cat in his last birth" Cabir enlightened Navya. Are these two were fighting sometimes back, but now they speaking like buddies.

"But devil in this birth", I said too low. But to my dismay, he heard it.

"As if you are the angel guardian came to earth to heal others wound"

"I may or may not be angel to other but not definitely to you. I love to add your pain rather than heal your wounds".

"Don't waste your energy, I know you will be my biggest pain of life"

We were facing each other and standing like we both are ready to pounce and break each other's face.

"Guys please stop! how you guys can able to pick up a fight tirelessly?" This was from Mukti out of annoyance.

"I am not picking up any fight" it was four us at same time.

This lessens the war tension that prevails few moments back among us as we all laugh loudly. My eyes automatically drawn to Manik as he laughs like kinder garden child who finally solved his math problem after numerous try. My amazement for his innocent laugh is replaced with hatred once his eyes landed on me but that didn't affect him as he continues his laugh.

The situation lightens and Navya asked me about the call with concern. I just assured that her it is no big deal through eyes though I just wanted to nail a sharp object in centre of Harshad's head. Navya and I can easily converse through our eyes. This was observed by another pair of piercing eyes which makes me to feel awkward that I swiftly moved my view towards Manik and he gave a look something through his dark black eyes which is alien to me. Does his eyes colour change? Sometime his eyes look brown sometimes black.

Then I introduce Mukti to Navya as we all studied in same class from KG to fifth. Mukti and Navya used to fight during their childhood often that who to sit right to me and who to sit left to me in the class. They also hide each other's lunch box and other stationary things to make other cry. But now to my surprise both get along well now as they both know each other all these years.

"Okay, how is Kavin? What he is doing now?" this sudden encounter made me speechless. Knowing my situation Navya replied, "We are not in contact with him after school".2 a

"But Nandhini, you both were staying same street right? So you would have known what he is doing now."

I sense Navya also have no answer for it and composed myself, "He moved out" I said the half-truth.
