The interview (1)

"It's time!" Eunha's excited scream echoed through the apartment early in the morning. Still dressed in her loose pajamas, she rushed down the hallway and burst into Chaeyoung's room without even knocking. Chaeyoung was still buried beneath her blanket, fast asleep. Eunha hurried to the bed and grabbed her shoulders, shaking her dramatically. "Wake up, wake up, wake up!" Chaeyoung groaned loudly and pulled the blanket halfway over her face. "Eunha…?" she muttered drowsily, her voice thick with sleep. "What are you doing in my room this early in the morning?" Eunha stared at her in disbelief. "What do you mean what am I doing here?" she said, crossing her arms impatiently. "You told me and Hyunwoo we could crash at your place after the concert yesterday, remember?" Chaeyoung blinked slowly, trying to recall the memory. "Did I…?" she murmured before finally dragging herself upright and stretching lazily. Eunha didn't bother waiting for her to fully wake up. She spun around and hurried straight into the living room. The moment she stepped inside, she froze. Hyunwoo was still fast asleep on the couch, sprawled across it like he had completely forgotten where he was. Eunha stared at him for a moment in pure disbelief. Then, without hesitation— She shoved him. Hyunwoo rolled off the couch with a thud. "Hey—!" he groaned from the floor, rubbing the back of his head. Eunha completely ignored his protest and waved impatiently toward the hallway. "Chaeyoung, hurry up!" she called out. "Come sit down!" Chaeyoung shuffled into the living room a few seconds later, still half asleep, her hair messy as she slowly sank onto the couch beside Eunha. Hyunwoo pushed himself up from the floor and collapsed back onto the couch, glaring at Eunha. "Why am I awake again?" cheayoung muttered tiredly. Eunha looked at her like she had just asked the most ridiculous question in the world. "Are you serious right now?" she said dramatically. "Today is Eclipse's first interview in three years. There's no way I'm missing that!" She grabbed the remote immediately and switched on the television. The screen flickered to life. Hyunwoo leaned back against the couch cushions and sighed. "Thanks for that wonderful wake-up call, Eunha," he said sarcastically. Eunha didn't even glance at him. Instead, she leaned forward nervously, her eyes glued to the television screen as if it might vanish if she blinked. "Shhh," she whispered urgently. "It's starting." The three of them sat quietly as the program began. The studio lights appeared on screen, the audience cheering loudly as the host stepped onto the stage. And just seconds later— The name ECLIPSE flashed across the television. Eunha clutched a pillow excitedly.Chaeyoung blinked awake almost instantly.Even Hyunwoo straightened slightly. Because after three long years… Eclipse was finally back on screen. The studio of "Spotlight confession" was already glowing with soft neon lights and the quiet murmur of an excited audience. Rows of fans filled the seats, many of them holding light sticks that shimmered in the dim lighting like tiny stars waiting to burst into life. Behind the stage curtain, a large screen displayed the name of the group everyone had been waiting for. ECLIPSE – FIRST RETURN IN THREE YEARS. The audience buzzed with anticipation. Then the music cue played. The host stepped onto the stage with a bright smile and a confident stride, adjusting the cue cards in his hand as the crowd applauded loudly. "Good morning everyone," he began warmly, glancing around the packed studio. "Welcome back to spotlight confession, the show where we sit down with the biggest stars and hear the stories behind the spotlight." The audience clapped again. The host grinned before continuing. "And today… we have a very special group joining us. They're a group that dominated charts, captured millions of fans, and then suddenly disappeared from the stage for three whole years." Fans in the audience already began cheering. "Yes, you guessed it," he laughed lightly. "They've finally returned with a brand new album, a sold-out concert, and a performance that reminded everyone exactly why they became legends in the first place." He paused for dramatic effect. "Everyone please welcome… ECLIPSE!" The studio erupted with cheers. The lights shifted as the members of Eclipse walked onto the stage, dressed in sleek dark outfits that still carried the sharp elegance of idols who had just come off a successful concert tour. Taeyong led the group with his calm, composed smile while Jisoo waved warmly to the audience. Seoyeon walked with his usual confident posture, offering a small nod to the fans, and Kai followed behind them, his expression controlled but polite as flashes from cameras filled the room. They greeted the audience together. "Hello, we are Eclipse!" The cheers grew even louder. Once everyone settled onto the stylish couch across from the host, the conversation began. Jinwon, the host, leaned forward slightly with an amused smile. "I have to say, the atmosphere today feels completely different," he said. "It's not every day we get a group that returns after three years and immediately sells out a stadium concert." Taeyong chuckled softly. "It honestly still feels unreal to us," he admitted. "We were nervous because it had been so long since we stood on stage together again, but when we heard the fans cheering… it felt like no time had passed at all." The audience clapped warmly. Jinwon nodded thoughtfully before turning toward Jisoo. "Jisoo, I heard the preparation for this comeback was extremely intense. Three years is a long time in the industry. What was it like getting ready to return?" Jisoo smiled, "To be honest, it was harder than we expected," he said. "We all spent those three years working on different things, so coming back together meant relearning our rhythm as a team. But at the same time… it reminded us how much we missed performing together." Seoyeon leaned back slightly, adding with a grin, "And the training schedule was brutal. I think our manager tried to make us relive our trainee days." The audience laughed. Jinwon looked amused."Well, judging from the performance we saw at the concert last night, all that training clearly paid off." Then his gaze slowly shifted toward Kai. Kai sat slightly quieter than the others, his posture straight, his hands resting calmly together as the studio lights reflected faintly in his eyes..Jinwon tilted his head slightly. "Kai," he said, his tone becoming more thoughtful, "this comeback must feel particularly different for you." The room grew a little quieter. "Many fans remember the former member Minjae, who left the group tragically three years ago. Since then, you've taken his place on stage." Some fans in the audience listened closely, the atmosphere suddenly heavier. Jinwon leaned forward slightly. "I'm sure that came with a lot of pressure," he said gently. "Standing in a position that once belonged to someone else is never easy. So I want to ask you honestly…" He paused before finishing the question. "How does it feel to stand on stage now as the member who replaced Minjae?" For a moment, the studio seemed to hold its breath. All eyes turned toward Kai.
