Rhys pov I was late to the hallway, close enough to see the crutch skid across the floor but too far to stop any of it. By the time I pushed through the crowd, Cole already had Kayla steady, his body angled protectively between her and Chelsea, and I stood there for a second just taking in the scene, Kayla's pale face, the crutch lying useless several feet away, Chelsea's expression cracking open in a way I'd never seen from her before.
