As much as she appreciated that fact that Cade felt the need to be her personal chauffeur, she felt awkward when he started coming inside to have coffee or a small breakfast when he dropped her off and had gotten along fairly well with Lonnie. They laughed and joked and to be quite frank, Jenna felt annoyed at him.
On top of that, Karson had stopped by a few times in the past week and they may have both been in at the same time, he was starting to wonder if there was something going on between her and her neighbor.
She had to lie to him and say that he just enjoyed the food and that he was a bad cook. It didn't seem like Karson fell for it but he just smiled and continued on like usual. Tonight was the night of their date and he wanted to take her out to a fancy dinner and a walk along the the marina.
Jenna was putting on the finishing touches to her make up before there was a knock on the glass. She had gotten used to Cade always knocking on her balcony door window and at this point in time, she should just leave it unlocked for him to come and go as he always pleases.
She went over to open the door and sure enough he was standing there. "Can I help-" Before she could finish he walked right past her and into her apartment. He was wearing a black long sleeve sweater and dark sweat pants as well, along with sneakers. He had his hair tied up in that half bun that he so often wore and she wondered if he was going to go for a run or kill someone. She had become used to him coming in and out and the things that he had done so far did not seem to surprise her anymore.
"What is it this time?" She asked him as he seemed to look around the room. He scanned the area and then he moved away from her. "I take it you're going out?" He asked her and there was a look on his face that had Jenna wondering why he looked so serious. "Yes, on a date if you must know."
"You shouldn't go." He told her and Jenna raised a brow at him, "Why not?" She asked.
"I just don't think its a good idea." He said.
Jenna shook her head at him as she grabbed for her purse. "Give me a good reason why it's not a good idea. I'm tired of you thinking that you can do whatever you want to do without ever giving me a real reason to things. I have a life and I-" Before she could say anything, there was what sounded like a "pop."
Cade moved so fast that she didn't hear the second pop before her door busted open and men started entering her apartment. She was so confused as to what was happening before more popping sounded and her lights went out. "Follow me!" Cade yelled to her and she couldn't do anything else but let him lead her into her bedroom.
"What the hell is happening?" She asked him as he locked the door and he grabbed a handgun from the back of his pants. "What the hell?" Jenna said, she knew that she should have been more afraid but seeing as who her family was, she knew what an ambush looked like and to go along with whoever was giving orders. "Hide in the closet, I'll take the two in your living room." He told her and she followed his orders.
It wasn't until she was sitting in the dark of the closet that she realized she had left her cellphone in the other room and there was no way that she could call the police. She could only listen to the popping sounds and of items crashing.
Was it the possible chance that the men were her father's who had found her and decided that it was time to take her home. If that was the case, she could just give herself up so that no one was going to get hurt. "Get back inside!" Cade yelled at her as he took shelter behind the door and shot out.
Bullets came flying through the door leaving holes and hitting her bed. Jenna wanted to scream but she knew that now was not the time to give up her exact location. "I might know them." She said as crawled over to him. He gave her a look that she knew he was frustrated with her because she didn't take his orders but he moved her to the bed. "I need you to trust me and don't move." He told her as he stopped shooting.
He motioned for her not to say anything and everything suddenly became quiet and she covered her mouth just in case she would react. There seemed to be footsteps as the sound creaked on the floorboards and the sound of the door knob jiggled.
Slowly, the door opened and a dark figure emerged into the room. Cade moved his gun higher and as soon as the figure entered, he shot the figure right in the head. The lifeless body of the man fell with a "thud" to the ground.
Jenna yelped from what she just saw into her hand and then another figure emerged right after. Cade was ready to shoot but the figure knocked right into the door hitting him and causing him to lose his balance.
Jenna yelled and the figure raised his handgun to shoot her but Cade, last minute deflected the gun and the "pop" sounded and she felt a terrible burning sensation as the bullet hit her right in the bicep. She cried out but saw that Cade and the man were tangled up as he tried to knock the gun out from his hand.
Cade had already lost his gun as the man punched him right in the nose. They were fighting fist to fist and Cade had the man in a headlock. The man was struggling and Jenna could see his hands move as he tried to get lose but Cade had him in a postion where it made it very difficult to grab any hold on the arm that prevented him from getting any air.
Minutes later, he was breathing hard as he came over to her and she felt lightheaded. Before she could even pass out, she saw that there was blood on his face, and he was talking into his phone and the last thing she heard him say was, "I found her but she'll need medical attention. I don't know how many more of them are there. Let Mr. Castigioli know that his daughter for the most part is ok." He said before cursing into his phone and Jenna strained to pay attention.
Before she lost consciousness she asked, "Who are you?" And then she let the darkness take her.

Jenna thought that she heard a beeping sound that sounded reminiscent to a heart monitor from afar when she came to. She felt a headache come over her as she opened her eyes and was blinded by a white light as her eyes adjusted to the lights.
As the pounding headache and sensitivity to light slowly subsided, she could faintly smell antiseptics in the air and she wasn't sure she understood why she was smelling it.
She blinked twice again and finally everything started to clear up her vision. It seemed that she was behind a white curtain but she had no doubt that she was in some hospital as there was sounds in the distance. There had been an IV attached to her arm and she looked to find that she was alone.
How the heck did she get here was her thought as her head started to pound again. Jenna found a pitcher of water and poured herself a cup before deciding that she wanted to move again. Last thing that she could remember was the shootout that conspired in her apartment the last night and she remembered being shot.
A voice grew loud as she didn't recognized the voice and the nurse entered her room. "Oh good, you're awake." She said as she moved the curtains aside and Jenna realized that she was in a room with just her and that the outside of the room was being guarded by a handful of guards. "I'll page the doctor." She said as she checked her vitals and pressed a button. "Where am I?" Jenna asked hoping that she wasn't where she thought that she was.
The nurse answered and Jenna cursed out loud. It was the same hospital that their family liked to use for privacy reasons and the fact that it was privately owned. It could only mean one thing, her father had found her and she wasn't sure if she was happy or upset.
