Lola-On the evening of Saturday, the 24th. I curl up on the sofa under a plush blanket to pass the time with a book until I have to make dinner. This story keeps taking me through a whirlwind of emotions. I blink through four chapters, and before I know it, it’s seven o’clock. At this rate, I might finish it before the weekend. There’s a soft knock as I fold the blanket placing it over the back of the couch. I opened the door to a smiling Nathan, and I didn’t expect it. He’s in better spirits than most days after getting off work, and I’m grateful. But I’m more impressed that he doesn’t reek that strongly of alcohol as he hugs me. “I missed you,” I say to gauge his reaction. “Me too, babe,” he says, getting comfortable. “Did you get your truck fixed?” I ask while hanging his things.
