I’m giddy, and now I know it will be a miracle if I get any sleep. I know she likes to cook, and the vast kitchen will allow her to craft meals to her heart’s desire. I bury myself in bed and turn on my side so my face is mere inches from Lola’s. Her bruises are fading, but she still has a ways to go, mentally and physically.
