‘I thought I brought you up not to be envious of other people,’ Valerie said, leaning over Lucy’s shoulder and peering at the pictures Lucy was flicking through on her smartphone. ‘You should be happy with who you are. You don’t need to waste time ogling models on the internet.’
‘I’m not ogling. This is that woman we met in the pub last night. Well, I met; you were … um, sleeping in the toilet.’
