With her bag of fudge swinging at her side, Lucy headed back to the holiday park, wondering if her star was in the ascent or firmly back into a nosedive. Elizabeth Trevellian had flourished and twisted and flown back out of the door with a promise to track Dan down later before anyone had got off a single word in reply. Lucy, feeling the mood had been broken as both Dan and Mark looked uncomfortable after the woman’s sudden appearance, made an excuse about checking on her parents and then got out of there as fast as she could.
Not before Mark had bagged up her leftover fudge as a present for her parents, though. Lucy, wanting to clear both Dan and Elizabeth out of her mind, was already wondering how she would sneak the confectionery past her mother.
