“We’d suffer for it, especially now that the vampires and witches are invading soon. We need someone from both sides. She’s a crossbreed. Her blood is rare and valuable. She’s tough. Show her some of your power. Prove how strong you are. She’ll blend in and obey you quickly,” Jeremy added, laughing as he swung in the air. He was the youngest but the seventh Alpha of The Seven.
A blond young man with red eyes and lips as red as roses, his skin smooth like oil, tall and slim. He was powerful, and a known s*x addict. His vampire nature gave him control over the weather—rain, sky, and everything related.
“You’re always talking about killing her. But she has the power to influence the crown,” Caspian pointed out.
“That’s exactly why we need to get rid of her. Or destroy her body if she ever learns to control her powers. She’s a hybrid; if she turns on us, we’re done for. A mere Omega woman defeating me? Impossible.” Griffith disagreed, frowning deeply.
“Griffith’s right… for once,” Clyde agreed.
“‘Right for once?’” Caspian repeated, incredulous. “He wants her dead when we need her the most. What happens if she dies? Finding another like her would take hundreds of years. We can’t waste this chance. If she can’t get tamed, then we do it the hard way.”
“We need her. We have to take the risk, no matter what. Even if I don’t like her.” Olcan tried to persuade them.
Olcan was the third of The Seven, similar in build to Lyall, but with a dark wine-colored skin tone.
“Have fun with that,” said a voice, and by the tone, everyone already knew who was being referenced without even looking.
Lyall, the second Alpha, descended the staircase with an evil smirk. “I don’t care if you want her or not. What I know is that I’m not sitting around and let her go. She’s a target. If they get her first, you know what’s coming. We can’t afford to be careless.”
They all knew he was right.
“We aren’t the invincible Alphas for nothing,” another voice emerged from the shadows as the door closed behind him. “We need to claim her as soon as possible. Can’t let the vampires take over this time. We’ll bring them to their knees, make them beg with blood running down their cheeks. They don’t even know who they’re dealing with.”
He clenched his fist, and a ball of fire appeared in his hand. He was the first Alpha. His name was Eyolf.
“Way to go, Eyolf,” Jeremy applauded happily.
“This isn’t a time for laughing,” Eyolf grinned. “We have business to settle. If she won’t cooperate, hand her over to me and I’ll whip her into shape.”
“No, don’t worry, Olcan,” Caspian shook his head. “We don’t want you near her. You’d kill her before we even start.”
The others chuckled at Caspian’s words.
Clyde said nothing. He sighed and sat down on a sofa chair, watching them all. He was their leader, and the time had come. They made an excellent decision by not wasting time. They would claim Rieka and make her their mate. He lit a cigarette, looking around to make sure no one was eavesdropping. He was going to kill the vampires, the werewolves who were enemies, and the faes for a hundred years—and this time, there would be no room for failure.
“Where is this Omega called Rieka?” he asked, his voice deep. “I want to see her for myself, find out what she’s really got, even if she’s lying about being an Omega.”
He blew smoke into the air as everyone fell silent, wondering what Clyde meant by those words.
“What do you mean?” Olcan asked, confused.
“I knew something smelled different,” Lyall added.
“I thought the same,” Jeremy agreed.
“How can you smell her scent when you haven’t even met her?” Cario wondered aloud.
“Some of her scent is on Lyall,” Clyde answered.
“I see. But why would she lie about her gender?” Jeremy questioned.
“Because she’s an Alpha, not an Omega, you son of a b***h,” Clyde blurted out. “You should already know the answer to that.”
“Oh,” Jeremy nodded in understanding, wondering about why Rieka would pretend to be an Omega and not an Alpha?
Clyde got up from the chair, still wearing his robe. He raised his hand and pointed toward the swimming pool. His eyes glowed, and the water instantly froze into ice, causing everyone to gasp at his display of power.
“Lyall,” he called out.
“Yes, Alpha,” Lyall responded, stepping closer.
“If she doesn’t cooperate, if she refuses to meet your demands, do whatever you must. But if she continues to be a problem, kill her and burn her body,” Clyde said, his voice darkening as black veins appeared beneath his eyes. “Then find someone else to take her place.” With that, he vanished.
The others stood there, smiling at Clyde’s harsh directive.
“I’m going to f**k her senseless today,” Olcan chuckled.
“Well, I’ll be the one sleeping with her. After all, she needs me and my pheromones.” Jeremy grinned.
“She’s not in heat,” Cario pointed out.
“Who the f**k cares? She’s still fuckable and can still get wet.” Jeremy smiled as he leaned close to Caspian and whispered, “Want to get in bed with me?”
“Get the f**k outta here,” Caspian shot back, glaring at Jeremy and pushing him away.
“Well, let’s get this over with as soon as possible,” Lyall added.
Rieka slowly rose from the floor, her hand trembling, the skin darkened and distinctly different from the rest of her body. She winced as pain shot through her bones. Her hands felt numb, like dead wood. If only she had realized just how powerful they truly were, she would never have underestimated them.
She should have known.
Taking a deep breath, she thought, These people are dangerous. I can’t believe they poisoned my hand. She flinched in agony. “I have to get out of here,” she muttered, scanning the room while struggling with her slow steps toward the door.
She needed to escape.
The entrance unlocked itself, revealing Lyall, Olcan, Cario, Caspian, Jeremy, Griffith, and Eyolf — all wearing smiles.
Rieka shivered and took a few cautious steps backward, shocked at The Seven standing before her.
“Were you planning to run away from here?” Lyall asked, still smiling.
They were all here.
One of them was missing, but she had to get out. Staying here was absurd. Did they all come just to sleep with her at once? They wouldn’t dare. She had to strike first, or else...
“You’re going to let these alphas have s*x with you and mark you,” a voice said.
Their pheromones terrified her.
"Why would I let these alphas touch me? I don’t even know them." She argued silently with her wolf. "Shut the hell up. Don't tell me what to do."
Lyall stepped forward and placed a fingertip on her forehead. “Do you want your body fed to the dogs, or would you rather feed on the dogs instead?” he snickered.
