Blue Dazhuang wasn’t actually named Dazhuang.
He’d simply been born big and sturdy, with strength far beyond other kids his age. The villagers started calling him “Dazhuang”—Big Zhuang—and over time, the nickname stuck.
By the time he grew up, he was already used to it.
After Blue Dazhuang, the Blue family had two sons and one daughter.
Blue Xiuming.
Blue Sibo.
And the youngest—Blue Shu.
Everyone in the village knew this well.
The eldest son was a farming expert, someone who could coax harvests out of even stubborn land.
The second son had passed the medical school entrance exam years ago and now worked as a doctor in the city hospital.
The third son had also gone to college and, after job assignment, usually only came home during the New Year.
In the villagers’ eyes, the three Blue brothers were all capable, promising men.
The only exception—
Was the Blue family’s youngest daughter.
Everyone knew Blue Shu.
Fat.
Lazy.
Useless.
In most families that favored sons over daughters, someone like her would’ve been despised—even dogs wouldn’t want her.
And yet—
She was spoiled beyond reason by both parents and all three brothers.
Earlier that noon, after Blue Dazhuang got into a heated argument with the eldest daughter of the Xu family at the village entrance, he rushed straight to the county town.
Meanwhile, the Xu family’s eldest daughter ran home, pale-faced and flustered.
That alone sparked endless speculation among the villagers.
Looks like the marriage alliance between the Xu and Blue families… was in trouble.
By the time the rumors reached the ears of Blue Shengli—the head of the Blue household—the story had already transformed into something much more dramatic:
The Blue family’s lazy daughter was bullied by the Xu family’s college student in the county town. Blue Dazhuang found out and went to teach the Xu boy a lesson.
It was told with such vivid detail, as if the storyteller had personally witnessed the scene.
The moment Blue Shengli heard his daughter had been bullied, he immediately decided to march to the Xu household in the eastern part of the village to demand answers.
Just as he was about to head out—
“Put-put-put—!”
The distinct rumble of a tractor echoed outside.
In the entire Tianshui Village, aside from the village chief, only the Blue family owned a tractor.
And theirs had been bought less than two years ago.
That sound—
Was unmistakably their tractor.
Then his wife’s voice rang out from beyond the courtyard gate.
“Dazhuang and Shushu are back!”
Blue Shengli—nearly fifty—bolted outside the moment he heard his daughter was home.
Standing at the gate, he spotted his fair, chubby daughter sitting on the family tractor.
And when he remembered the rumors—
The old man nearly cried on the spot.
The tractor stopped.
Blue Shu jumped down, and the first thing she heard was—
“My precious Shushu! How did you get so thin?!”
Blue Shu: ???
The sheer sincerity in his voice almost made her believe it.
Almost.
Thankfully, she quickly pinched the thick roll of fat around her waist and snapped back to reality.
Yeah right. I don’t believe a word of that.
She looked up.
Standing outside a nearby house were a middle-aged couple in their forties, gazing at her with overflowing concern.
Her memories reacted instantly.
The man who’d just lamented her “weight loss” was her foster father in this rural life.
The woman beside him, hair neatly pulled back—
Her foster mother.
“Dad. Mom. I’m home,” Blue Shu said, stepping forward.
Perhaps influenced by the original owner’s lingering emotions, the words came out naturally.
“My poor baby… you’ve suffered so much…”
Seeing how her daughter had left with piles of clothes, only to return with two small bundles, Chang Chunfang’s heart ached.
“That Xu family is nothing but cowards!” Blue Shengli snapped, half furious, half heartbroken.
“How dare they bully my precious daughter!”
In that moment, he made a decision.
If Xu Yunjie really had wronged his daughter—
He would never let that boy off easily.
Blue Shu saw all of this clearly.
The original owner had truly loving parents.
She felt a twinge of envy.
Just as she was about to comfort them, the couple each grabbed one of her arms and pulled her into the house.
Behind them, Blue Dazhuang parked the tractor and followed.
He already knew the full story between his little sister and Xu Yunjie—she’d told him everything.
So once Chang Chunfang went to the kitchen to cook something good for her daughter, and Blue Shengli and Blue Shu sat down in the main hall—
Blue Dazhuang launched straight into a passionate retelling.
Complete with heavy personal bias.
And an impressive amount of verbal abuse aimed at Xu Yunjie.
Blue Shu couldn’t get a single word in edgewise.
Blue Shengli had assumed his daughter had merely been bullied.
He never imagined—
That his precious Shushu was already divorced.
What kind of suffering must she have endured over the past month in the county town to reach that point?
He didn’t dare imagine it.
All he knew was—
The treasure he’d raised in his palms had been grievously wronged.
Blue Shengli’s expression shifted several times before he suddenly stood up—
And headed straight for the door.
Blue Dazhuang followed immediately.
Father and son were of one heart.
One look was enough—he knew exactly what his father intended to do.
Seeing the two of them grab farming tools leaning against the wall, clearly preparing for a fight—
Blue Shu snapped out of her shock and shouted,
“Dad! Big Brother! Don’t rush—yes, I divorced Xu Yunjie, but I didn’t lose out in the end!”
Her words didn’t stop them.
In Blue Shengli’s mind, a daughter who reached divorce must have suffered immensely.
As her father, he had to go to the Xu family and demand justice.
Blue Shu didn’t fully know the original father’s thought process—
But she absolutely didn’t want things escalating into a family brawl.
If someone got seriously hurt, both families would pay a heavy price.
So she rushed after them and stood directly in their path.
“Dad. Everything the Xu family owed us—everything Xu Yunjie owed me—I already got it back!”
Blue Shengli froze.
“…Got it back?”
For a moment, he didn’t quite understand.
“Yes,” Blue Shu nodded.
“What Xu Yunjie owed our family back then, plus what we supported him with over the years—seven hundred yuan in total. I took it all back.”
She hadn’t had the chance to tell Blue Dazhuang earlier—he’d been too worked up on the way home.
Now that she said it, both father and son realized—
Maybe their daughter hadn’t been completely bullied after all.
Otherwise, given the Xu family’s poverty—and Xu Yunjie’s calculating nature—
There was no way he’d willingly hand over that much money.
“Men like Xu Yunjie—scheming and small-minded—I don’t want him anyway,” Blue Shu said calmly.
“This divorce happened because I didn’t want him anymore. I dumped him.”
“And Big Brother already promised—he’ll help me find a better man in the future.”
To stop her father and brother from storming off to fight the Xu family, Blue Shu had no choice but to bring up remarriage—
Just to redirect their attention.
Give them something else to look forward to.
