CHAPTER EIGHT LEIGH I had never seen a room full of dangerous men go silent before. It was unnerving. Moments earlier the compound had been alive with movement. Men had poured out of every building, boots pounding across gravel, headlights cutting through the darkness while engines idled impatiently beyond the gates. Now the yard stood frozen beneath the floodlights as every pair of eyes settled on the man who had climbed out of the lead SUV.
