CHAPTER SEVEN LEIGH I woke before dawn because my body refused to believe I was safe. For one disorienting moment, I forgot where I was. The room was unfamiliar. The mattress beneath me was softer than the narrow cot I'd slept on for the last three years, and instead of hearing wolves patrolling outside my window, I heard the low, comforting rumble of motorcycles somewhere beyond the clubhouse walls.
