Chapter Eleven
At the appointed time she and Nell arrived at the house, to find John taking the air outside, seated on a bench. He immediately got to his feet. Elizabeth made the introductions and suggested they go inside.
“Each of you knows that I have a relationship with both of you. It’s my intention to make that more intimate, so that we all get to know each other really well.”
Nell smiled, while John looked rather serious.
“I hope you will both conduct yourselves according to my instructions.”
They each nodded their agreement.
