Twin betrayal

CHAPTER 7

     "Where? Here? You mean Liam from Los Angeles?" Grace asked, looking around. "Of course Liam from Los Angeles" I answered, getting angry. "Okay, calm down. Did he recognize you?" She asked, excusing herself and pulling me towards the exit, so we could talk better. " No, I don't think he did. He was asking for my name" I told her, beginning to calm down. "What a jerk" Grace said, now getting angry on my behalf. "Well, it's not his fault. Considering" I replied her, trying to calm her down. Grace's anger is worse than mine, I didn't want to get her upset. "Let's get back inside, I was just shocked to see him here, in New York". i said to her. "Alright, if you are sure" Grace said, looking at me skeptically. "I am" i replied, smiling at her.

         We walked into the hall together, they were already making toasts and all. Grace went back to the person she was talking to. And i went back to Toby. " Where were you? I went to the restroom to look for you when you were taking too long" Toby said, immediately I got to him. "Grace pulled me out to talk to me" I answered him. Technically it isn't a lie becomes Grace did pull me out to talk to me (wink). "Alright. i thought something happened to you" he said, settling down. I looked around hoping to see Liam again but he was no where to be found. I had to be sure I wasn't mistaken. What the hell was he doing in New York? As the wedding came to an end, the bride and groom left the hall. Tania looked so beautiful in her wedding dress. As Toby, Grace and I (Grace eventually came to join us) stood up to leave, I saw Chris approaching us. He greeted Toby and Grace and came to stand in front of me. "Hi Mabel" he said with a smile. "Hi!" I said back not returning the smile. "How have you been?" He asked. Grace and Toby excused themselves. "I have been alright" I replied, my heart skipping.  I shouldn't still be feeling this way after 6 years.  Why can't I hate him after all he did? "I tried reaching out after high school but I learnt you already left New York" he said "Yeah, I did. I Ieft for college" I said looking around. I saw Toby and Grace standing by the exit. Without waiting for him to answer I said, "I need to go, Grace is waiting for me ". "Oh alright,  can I get your number?" He said, smiling at me. I called out my number, be dialed it, then I left to go meet Grace and Toby.

The wedding that tormented me for days has finally come to an end. i thought, relaxing the passenger's seat. "Are you kidding me Mabel? You gave him your number?" Mabel shouted from the back seat. Without waiting for me to answer she continued, "He broke your heart Mabel, you still haven't healed from that"."i couldn't help it" i said in a sober voice."what is going on?" Toby inquired, looking at both of us. Grace went over the whole story with him. "Oh s**t!" Toby said after hearing the story. "i am so sorry Mabel" he said, looking at me with concern. "it's fine, Toby. its been 6 years." i replied him. "No, its not!" Grace yelled. "i think Mabel needs closure. if she has to talk to him to get closure,then let her" Toby said, interrupting Grace. "Be careful Mabel" she said, looking at me with a knowing look. "i will, i promise" i said turning around to look at her. "Can we stop for food? i am really hungry"  Toby said. "Hell yeah!" Grace and i shouted.
