CHAPTER 15

The weekend was over before I knew it and I had to be at work on monday. I arrived at work before my boss and settled down . It was past 8a.m and my boss wasn't around yet, there wasn't anything on his schedule that suggested that he wasn't going to be around. I waited till past 9 just to be sure he wasn't running late. I decided to call him. Gggggrrr Gggrrr his phone rang "Hello Mabel" He said picking the call. "Good morning sir, you are yet to arrive at the office. Hope no problem?" I asked rotating in my chair. "No problem. Myself and my wife went somewhere so I will be running late" he said pressing the horn. "I was going to give you a call but I forget. I am sorry " he said again. "No problem sir, is there something I can do for you?" I asked, taking my pen and notepad. "Just hold my calls till I get back" he said. I heard someone talk in the background. "Your aunt is sending her greetings" he said referring to his wife. "Tell her I will come and visit her one of these days" I told him, moving the pen and notepad away. "Alright now. I will be back around noon so hold the fort till I get back" he said and hung up. I tried reading a book but I felt sleepy, so i decided to just play a game on my phone.

While I was waiting, I decided to go grab a cup of coffee because I was already feeling sleepy. As I got off the elevator on the kitchen floor, I met Stella walking towards the kitchen. "We should be called kitchen pals" I said as soon as she was within hearing range. "I know right" she said laughing. "Where is your office?" I asked her walking into the kitchen. She gave me the directions to her office while taking a seat. " I was feeling sleepy so I decided to come grab a cup of coffee before my boss gets back" I said to her, preparing my coffee. "I needed a break from work so I decided to just stroll around and grab a bottle of water" she said, taking a sip of her bottle water. "I have been meaning to ask someone. Who do you think will replace Mr Kobe?" I whispered, moving close to her. "Oh yeah. I heard the rumour that Mr Kobe is retiring soon and that his replacement will be someone from Mr Baker" she whispered. "I just met Mr Baker recently. How is he?" I asked, trying not to sound too interested. " Omg he is so fine. He is really nice also, but I heard that he is a womanizer " she answered  with so much enthusiasm. "I won't mind if he comes unto me cos damn "he so fine!" She said, winking at me. I smiled at her. I actually like her energy. "I hope my new boss is a nice person" I said to her. " We all hope so too." She said, finishing her water. "Oh s**t! I need to get back to my office. Talk to you later" she said, throwing the empty bottle with her away. "Alright. Bye" I replied. "Bye" she called out, leaving the kitchen. I sat down to drink my coffee and when I was done I headed back to my office to wait for my boss.
