Chapter 2 | First Night in Bed: His First Time Losing Control

966 Words
The California sea breeze caressed the floor-to-ceiling windows, bringing with it a gust of salty humidity. Natalie woke up in a huge leather bed. The room was filled with the faint scent of cedar and the ...... lingering scent of last night. Her body still ached, reminding her that what happened last night was no dream. The seat beside her was empty, but his warmth remained on the pillow. She turned her head toward the floor-to-ceiling window, where Elijah was standing, clad only in a pair of black silk pajama pants, his firm back muscles looking sexy in the morning light. He was on the phone, his voice low and full of authority, "I don't care what you use, the remaining assets of the Harper Group must be liquidated within a week. Also, have the legal department prepare an indictment, I want George Harper to spend the rest of his life in prison." Natalie's heart raced at the mention of her father's name. She'd made a crazy decision last night, and now it seemed that the man did have the power to grant her wishes. "Awake?" Elijah hung up the phone and turned to look at her. The morning light outlined the perfect contours of his body, with defined abs and a mermaid line so sexy it made her heart race.Natalie had to admit, this man had the capital to make any woman go crazy for him. "I thought you'd left." She sat up, the sheet slipping off to reveal her bare shoulders. She had been too forward last night, and she still blushed a little when she thought about it. But she didn't regret it; it was the path she'd chosen. "Leave?" Elijah walked slowly towards the bed, his eyes playful, "The deal has just begun, my lady lover." He sat down on the edge of the bed, his long fingers caressing her cheek. Her skin was smooth and silky, and the marks left from last night reminded him of the intense entanglement between the two of them. "You were more ...... passionate last night than I thought you would be." His voice was dark, his thumb brushing over her slightly swollen lips, "I'm beginning to understand why so many men are crazy about you." Natalie pushed his hand away, "I'm not out to please you." "No?" Elijah raised an eyebrow and suddenly leaned over and pinned her to the bed, "Then who was it that whispered my name in my ear last night? Who was the one who clung to me and wouldn't let go?" His words made her blush like blood. She had indeed lost control last night, and with his mastery, she had almost forgotten that it was just a transaction. "It was just a physical reaction." She struggled to remain calm. "A physical reaction?" Elijah laughed softly, his voice dangerously magnetic, "Then let's verify it again." His kiss fell again, this time gentler than last night, yet more deadly. His tongue swept across her lips, causing a fine war cry. Natalie wanted to push him away, but her body responded honestly to his touch. Her hands unconsciously wrapped around his neck, allowing him to kiss her more deeply. "See, your body is much more honest than you are." He whispered against her lips, his warm breath making her go limp. "Elijah ......" she gasped his name softly, her voice carrying an involuntary tease. Elijah's eyes grew instantly deeper when he heard her call his name like that. The first time he heard her call his name during her o****m last night, he knew he might have underestimated how dangerous this woman was. She wasn't just a tool of revenge, but a special creature that mesmerized him. "Remember that feeling." His hands slid over her body, every inch of it trembling under his hands, "Every night from now on, you're going to belong to me like this." "That wasn't in our agreement." She tried to keep her sanity, but her voice had begun to tremble. "It is now." He announced dominantly, then kissed her again. This time, she fell completely. An hour later, Natalie lay in his arms, her body still trembling slightly. She had to admit that not only was this man a king in the mall, he was equally irresistible in bed. "I need to go home and change." She tried to break free from his arms. "No need." Elijah pulled her back into his arms, "I've had your clothes ready. From now on, you live here." "I didn't agree to this." "You have no right to refuse." His voice turned cold again, "Since you have chosen this path, you will follow my rules." Natalie looked at him, the change in the man disturbed her. Just a moment ago he was as gentle as water, then he turned cold as ice. "You regret it?" He sensed the change in her mood and his eyes became dangerous. "No." She shook her head, "I was just wondering if you weren't as cold-blooded as you thought you were." Elijah's body stiffened, then he sneered, "Don't presume to understand me, Natalie Harper. it's a deal between me and you, nothing else." He got up and walked towards the bathroom, leaving her alone on the bed. But Natalie noticed that the moment he turned around, it wasn't indifference that flashed in his eyes, but some sort of complexity that she couldn't yet understand. Perhaps, this seemingly cold-blooded man was not as hard inside as he appeared to be. Perhaps, this deal would be more complicated than she had imagined. The sound of water came from the bathroom, and Natalie closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Either way, she wouldn't regret it. She was willing to pay any price for revenge. Including her heart.
