"In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: It goes on." ― Robert Frost I wanted to dig myself in a deeper hole. Scratch that, I wanted a whole ditch to hide myself in. Not only today started out lousy but I just forgot that I had a fish memory and that his name slipped my mind. I saw him everywhere around me; in classes, in the hallways and in the garden. It wasn't because I despised him, I didn't know him, but it seemed like he had major bipolar issues: one minute, I saw a glimpse of him laughing and the other was his unaffected side. The most awkward thing of it all was that I was unsure about the date Elodie had set up. I didn't know if this was going to happen or not but either way, I was going to shower today to relax my tensed shoulders. I had way too much incidents with him today and the more I willed it to go away, the more it bounced back. The moment where I fazed out with my hand over his, the moment where I sang twice in front of him, and with him and the moment I tripped. On the other hand, he had abnormal piano skills when I sang along, it felt so effortless to sing with him like he just knew he had control over the piano. After Mr. Atkins's disaster class where he spent half of his time bashing every artist until his face reddened with irkness. I didn't take his insult to heart, Mr. Atkins was a depressed man with a lousy job who was too talented in front of a piano but his playing felt basic like he was only doing his job whereas Xavier's piano play was heavenly. It was the only sound I liked so far. My mind took me back momentarily to my tormented days where the only sound I could only hear was my mother's yells and the destruction she had in her heart. I felt at peace when I knew that she wasn't getting anywhere near me for now. Xavier Adams stood beside me on stage when Mr. Atkins turned his back to grab our assignments, my phone flashed in my pocket and I took it out to check it, I felt super self-conscious when his eyes temporarily glanced at my phone. Not only that, I dropped my phone accidently when it slipped my palm and landed on the carpeted stage. My heart dropped when my screen opened and it just happened when Xavier saw my shocked face, he thought he was helping when he bent down to take my phone. Before I had time to remove it, his eyes already saw the two listed contacts that included his sister and him. Kill me now. He tried not to burst out laughing but the motion of his shoulders shaking indicated that he was close to hysterical when he gave me my phone, I bit my lower lip in pure mortification. Elodie just had to text me when I was beside her brother. Other people glanced at Xavier, who was busy trying to hide his laughter with coughs followed by a little continuation laugh. Before Mr. Atkins turned to face us, I efficiently deleted his contact name and I felt like I was laughed at by him, it wasn't a good feeling. "Here are your assignments due tomorrow," everyone groaned at that but like the little goody-two-shoes, I already had an idea about the assignment's content, "no slacking, no my-dog-ate-it excuses, definitely no absences or you'll get a beautiful doughnut in return." He finished giving the papers over to the students and stopped Xavier to talk to him for his late arrival. That made me have extra time on my essential shower. I almost skipped over to run back to my dorm, I was in dire need of rest but when I saw Elodie in front of my door with her frown, I knew my wish was too good to be true. "Why the hell haven't you got ready?" Elodie exclaimed rather loudly. "I already saw your brother and I am going to have to refuse the idea," I decided. As much as he intrigued me with his talent, I wasn't going to let him get away for laughing at me back in Mr. Atkin's class. I had two assignments I needed to get done and my weekly organized revisions to get to. "No, you can't back out missy, I already prepared everything," she stubbornly bickered at me and I didn't have the fight in me to argue back so I just let her talk. "Shower, geat ready and meet me in the garden downstairs for the surprise," She ordered in her stern voice as her blue eyes narrowed at me as if to warn me. I opened the door to my room, I wanted to jump and hug my bed desperately. "But-" I had no choice when Elodie dragged me in the room and into the bathroom, she was quick to open the closets in search of my clothes, she almost screeched when she found a few clothes hanging. "You really need to go shopping, dear friend," she was stunned and I almost wanted to laugh at her face expression, I went out of the bathroom and took my under garments. "You go shower and I will be back." she quickly said before she literally ran outside. I went into the steamy hot water as I squirt the lotion on my skin and laid my head on the side of the tub sighing at the amount of relief my muscles thanked me for. I almost went to sleep in the tub but had it not been for Elodie's constant knocking, I was too knackered from today. I came out with a robe and a towel to cover my wet hair. "There is no way," my eyes went to the backless bright lylac colored dress, "I am going to wear that." I sputtered out but when Elodie placed her hands on her hips with her satanic smirk, I had no chances of survival.
