Chapter 4

Trying to calm himself he takes a deep breath. Levi what is this? Did you come here to do this now? I thought..I guess I was wrong yet again you f*****g ass hole. Why would you do this again? Kate let me explain. I cut him off. There is nothing to explain obviously you found someone. Why would you even come? Trying to keep his cool which normally at this point of the argument he'd be flying off the handle. He came closer to me, throwing the papers on the island, pulling me in closer until our faces were inches apart. First off there is no one else and I came here because I want you to come to the reunion! and not to disappoint Dad. I search his eyes. He's hiding something from me but he's not willing to reveal it. Levi that's not all your here for ,but I don't want to argue anymore. I'll leave it be for now. An hour later the food comes and we clean up from this morning and dinner. We need to discuss how were are doing this. Levi let's just act like normal they'll understand. We just need to tone down the fighting don't worry, I'll play my part. He winces at my words but says nothing. The next few days linger on. I pack my things for a week. I get everything ready. We haven't done much fighting since the first day. We've gotten better at walking away. We arrive at the air point at 8am an hour before our flight. I'm so nervous I'm shaking. I love him and his family so much. I just can't seem to shake this. He sees the concern in my eyes. Kate everything is going to be ok. Somehow after all the fighting he still has a way of calming me not so much when I'm pissed at him. We make sure Lea is tucked away safely and she loves to travel!! We get on the plane and our bluff begins. We arrives in his home town right at 1:00pm and his dads there to greet us. Hi Dad! He comes forward with open arms and a bear hug that make anyone feel safe. He lowers me down with glee in his eyes. His about 6'2 broad shoulders an NFL player who can take a truck down ,but he is the sweetest person you'll ever meet even if he looks a little scary! You know when Levi said you all were coming I was shocked he never gets off work for these things. I'm so glad you could make it. Lea's wigginling like crazy and enjoying the butt scratch Lea is so happy. I'm glad we could make it. Levi greets his father. Those two have always been close but through the years they've lost contact especially after his mom died.. It was very hard on them. I see you still have old betty! grinning ear to ear he loads our stuff up! Lea jumps in the back and I squirm to the middle and Levi sits beside me hand holding and everything I raise a brow he smirks and keeps holding my hand. Dad gets in and sees the hand holding shakes his head and we drive off. Dad how is everyone? They are fine sweetpea! Where's Grace ? She is a 4 foot nothing firecracker from hell! Who is the sweetest person you'll ever meet as well!! We''ve missed you all! We've missed you to. An hour and a half later we reach the ranch just outside of the city. It hasn't changed on bit has it? No!! Everyone has already made it after lots of hugs and how are you's we walk into this gorgeous 3 story house with about 15 bedrooms, 10 1/2 bathrooms and a master bedroom and bath! The foye is absoutly beaitful! A deer horn chandler hangs from the celing cascading light through the intrance. It's a home full of love and like walking into a fairytale. We head upstairs pictures covering the walls. I stop half way looking at our wedding photo. We eloped and my parents had passed not long after we got enganged and I didn't want anything big. It didn't feel right to celebrate in normal wedding way. We reach our bedroom on the second floor all the way in the back. Opening the door smells like pine and mint! King size bed with a handcrafted headboard! A beautiful quiet hangs over the bed. Fresh flowers, cotton sheets, it's a little piece of heaven. We place our things in the closet. I take my coat off and walk over to the window. It has the perfect view of my favorite place the lake. He comes up behind me pulling me in close i feel his breath on my neck sending chills. I try to control my desire remembering why were here. He spins me around and plants the sexiest kiss I've ever had. Levi what are you doing.. this isn't part of the bluff.. before I can say another word the fire that was in his eyes are put out in an instant. I feel the hurt I put on him. I gently grab his hand. Levi what do you want? He pulls his hand away and walks out again.. Damn him.. Why can't omg I need a drink! I Head to the kitchen and fill a glass of Jim Beam.. Hard stuff already you've only been here 10 min. Well you know Levi and I! I turn around to Grace ! omg it is so good to see you!! after several squeals and jumping up and down! I see you all redid the kitchen! I love these cabinets! They are cherry oak with a nice finish! The Island is ideal for parties! Cast iron skillets hang all over the place. The counters are granite, my favorite! They have a double oven and the question happens how are you two really doing? dreading the questions but knowing damn well I can't lie to her. Grace we... Before I get the words out almost everyone comes inside! Drinking and talking and playing continue through the evening. I haven't been able to find Levi since we arrived but I brush it off though the kiss still lingers in my mind and lips. I sneak off upstairs to try and relax so much going on.. Lea right behind me..Theres a light knock at the door that stirs me from my thoughts come in!
