Chapter 4 - Nates POV

I was wandering through the crowd that had gathered for our full moon bonfire, Mum and Dad loved to throw these parties and get everyone together, it kept the pack bond strong Dad said. Jay my wolf was very agitated as I weaved through everyone stopping now and then to speak, all I could think was that he could sense danger of some sort so I kept my eye on the tree border.

“Nate!” I heard Jaxon shout me from over by his family.

“Hey pal.” I greeted him, noticing he was holding a girl’s hand next to him, “Hi Jennifer how are you?” I asked politely. My nose twitched smelling a faint smell of roses.

“I’m fine thank you Nate how are you, glad to be home now?” She replied just as polite.

“Yeah definitely glad to be back, it’s good to see everyone.” I smiled at the thought of seeing my family again, “So is this official or is it just a fling until your mates come along?” I asked chuckling.

“No its official, Jen’s my mate we haven’t seen each other in months while we’ve been away and I bumped into her today while her and Ali were moving in.” At this point Jay was going crazy, he needs a run I thought to myself.

“Well congratulations guys I’m happy for you both. Excuse me I need to nip and speak to Dad.” I made the excuse to leave and let Jay out.

Walking through the crowd towards the pack house I smelt roses again and Jay wanted to follow it. It lead me into the pack house and through the makeshift walkway my mum had set up, then out of the front door and towards the woods.

“What’s going on buddy?” I asked Jay in my head.

“Mate I can smell mate!” He said excitedly, “We need to follow her and find her now Nate!” He exclaimed.

“Okay okay calm down just follow her scent, but when you find her you let me take back over okay I don’t want you to scare her?” I knew he wouldn’t be happy with this but I needed to make sure he didn’t scare her off straight away being too forward. Alpha wolves were always territorial, especially when it came to their mates, I didn’t want him marking her there on the spot.

“Yes fine.” He said grumpily and I let him take over. My large jet black wolf emerged and sniffed the air excitedly.

Jay lead us into the woods and down the footpath the overwhelming smell of roses was all around me. We cut off into the trees and the smell started to get fainter.

“Where are you going I can’t smell her this way?” I asked Jay.

“Just trust me Nate.”

So I let him lead me to where he needed to be. We ended up back on the path further into the woods and facing the way we had just come, Jay backed off and let me back in control fully. I grabbed a pair of trackies from behind a tree which we kept for the boarder patrols.

I could see someone in a dark red dress running towards me in the distance, her blonde hair blowing as she ran, I just stood like a deer in headlights staring. She seemed to be in a daze, maybe talking to her wolf, then something distracted her completely. She realised I was stood there at the last minute and skidded to a stop before me.

Bent double holding her knees and panting I studied her quietly to see her reaction. I couldn’t believe it was her. She was a goddess, curves in all the right places, long blonde hair and the most striking green eyes. As she was studying my body the mate bond drawing her closer to me, she bites her lip causing me to take in a sharp breath. What I would do to be the one biting that lip, her cheeks got a little rosy as she noticed me looking at her.

My head tipped to the side as I looked over her body, and I involuntarily took a step closer to her, my body was screaming for her as well as Jay in my head. She had the most amazing figure, I had to stop my hands from reaching out and running the curves of her body.

Her eyes captured me, they were the most amazing green colour with dark lashes framing them making them stand out more. I could get lost looking into them all day, and that’s what I planned on doing. Hell if Jax could see this now I had promised him she would be mine one day, totally just winding him up but here she was, all mine. I was a lucky son of b***h.

She was looking at me dead in the eye but I could see a questioning look on her face.

“Ali?” I said asking if she was ok.

“Nate?” She replied, just the sound of her voice around my name made my stomach do a flip. I needed her right now.

I put my hand up to her face slowly and cupped her cheek, I could feel the electricity running between us as soon as I did. My wolf abilities meant I could smell her arousal just at my touch, I smiled if only she knew how much I wanted her too. My hand stroked down her cheek and around the back of her neck as I closed the distance between us completely until my lips met hers. I touched them lightly once as if asking permission to kiss her but I couldn’t help myself as I kissed her the second time. She kissed me back and all I wanted to do was get lost in her, she tasted amazing.

Her arms touched my wrists and stroked all the way up to my shoulders making me moan into her mouth, I could sense her smile as she wrapped her hands behind my neck. Slipping my free arm around her waist I pulled her even closer to my body and she fit perfect against me. I felt her hands slip from around my neck, down onto my shoulders and then one hand on each side of my chest. I forgot I had no top on, her skin on mine was incredible, I never stopped kissing her. Alice let out a small moan into my mouth just slightly opening her mouth so I took the opportunity to deepen the kiss and slipped my tongue into her mouth. Her response set off fireworks in my body and took dominance over the kiss, pouring all my need into it. If I didn’t stop now Jay was definitely going to take over and mark her here and now.

We broke away to catch our breaths, I could do this all day kissing this girl how have I been so lucky to have her as my mate. She was beautiful, clever, strong, not the kind of girl who flaunted herself infront of the lads, just perfect. I looked at her and could see she was in some sort of inner battle, s**t.

“Ali?” I questioned again, “you ok you look a little confused?” I hoped she couldn’t hear the desperation in my voice.

“Yeah, yeah I’m fine. I just wasn’t really expecting this and not with you, I mean I’ve just moved away today.”

Moved away! My mind was doing all sorts of things thinking I’d lost her before we had even started.

““What moved away where to?”

“Only into the town I start college in a week so me and Jenny have got an apartment there. Aren’t you a little shocked this has happened?” She doesn’t mean to let on but I see her eyes drop to her hands still on my bare chest, a little flustered she takes a step back from my and all of a sudden I feel empty without her in my arms.

“Not really, I’ve always had a massive crush on you.” Her mouth drops open, “Used to torment Jax all the time about it saying you’d be mine one day, that Id catch your eye one day and pin you into being my Luna.” I laugh at her reaction how did she not know how gorgeous she’s always been!

The smirk that appears on her face tells me the Ali I know is there,

“Oh really?” Her eyebrow arches as she says it, god she looks beautiful like that. I laugh and try to take a step towards her but she slips off under my arm without me even realising. As she’s running off I hear her say, ““Let’s see if the big Alpha can stick to his word then!”

I can not believe she just ran away from me, Jay is laughing in my head dieing to chase after her. Ohhh this is going to be fun I thought. Giving her a second head start knowing I would catch her easily I grinned as I set off running after her. Being an alpha a lot of things were heightened like my speed and agility, so it really took me seconds to catch her up. Wanting to make this fun I slowed down a little so she thought I couldn’t catch her too easily. As she was just at arms length away I reached out to grab her shoulder but as I did she ducked down and set off running to the right. I laughed, this is the Ali I always remember, playful, fun and competitive,

“Ali you know I’ll catch you give it up!” I shouted humorously.

These woods were my playground growing up I knew them inside out, Ali was following a path I new came to left soon so I stopped using my wolf abilities to listen to her footsteps. I heard her skid and her footsteps start getting louder but on the other side of the trees. Hiding in the bushes I heard her pace slow slightly so I peeked through and she was looking through the trees and bushes I hoped looking for me. As she got a little closer I jumped out of the trees and tackled her to floor, grabbing her body and pressing it against mine so she didn’t hurt herself. Making sure we landed with me on top pinning her to the floor I laughed and so did she. Her laugh was the most beautiful thing I’d ever heard.

“Thought you could outsmart me there did you?” I said as I leant down to her face slowly a little nervous and I stopped just before her face wanting her to come the rest of the way. Ali raised her chin to me giving me permission to kiss her. The feeling was incredible, I could feel my body all over as I kissed her and she kissed me back, it was unreal. It was turning me on so bad and not wanting our first time together to be in the woods I had to pull away before it got out of hand and I couldn’t stop myself. Jay was going mental in my head to mate her right this second but I couldn’t let it happen like this.

I rested my forehead against hers I could smell how turned on she was too which mad it even harder to not carry on. Fighting my inner battle I had to give everything to not kiss her again. Her cheeks looked a little flushed too.

“Well. I wasn’t expecting this to happen tonight was you?” Trying to distract us both from our heated position I didn’t want her to think I wanted to mate her in the middle of the woods.

“Erm no not really.” Ali said a little quietly obviously a little shell shocked from how heated we got so quickly. Then she wriggled backwards away from me. A little confused at her want to get away from i leant back on my legs so I was kneeling on the floor.

“Sorry but I really have to go.” She said but she sounded pissed off, and before I could say anything she had set off running again.

I was so confused at what had just happened I sat there for a minute. How had we gone from kissing, so turned on i very nearly f****d her in the middle of the woods, to her running away from me. My chest ached at the distance between us already. What the f**k was happening. I decided I needed some help here this wasn’t going to be as simple as I thought - Find my mate fall in love instantly and live happily ever after all that bullshit.

And I knew just who to ask to help me.
