One More Chance

ONE MORE CHANCE: Chapter 3

And who is this" asked Mrs. George with a questioning look as she lowered her spectacles down to the bridge of her nose...

"Oh, where are my manners?"

"Mom, Allison Jones. Allison, Mom" He said

Mrs. George's countenance had changed and it was written all over her face.

"Hello dear" she said with the coldest formality.

"Good day Mrs George, it's very nice to meet you in person".

"I believe this is the young lady you have been telling us about, huh Roberts. The Allison Jones" said Mr. George who just came downstairs

"Yes Dad, she's the one" replied Robert's

"Pleased to meet you young lady." said Mr. George with a warm smile and handshake.

"Thank you very much sir" Allison replied

Mr. George was a well known man in that city. Popularly known as a business tycoon, he owned several companies and enterprises. He looked very fit and it seemed as though he exercises consistently.

He seemed very pleased to meet Allison. He could see that his wife wasn't very happy with Robert's choice of a girlfriend.

Robert recognised it too the day he mentioned it to his parents but today he didn't care.

Mr. George was very much soft hearted about everything especially Richard. He was the only child of his parents who had survived a horrible incident. He was the 3rd child of his parents at a time. His family went on a trip with the first two children. At that time, Robert was a baby of 8 months.

The two kids were kidn*pped and after a very long search for both of them, they found their corpse on a Monday morning at the doorstep of the Prime ministers quarters with a note, threatening to do the same to other children if they don't give them a certain sum of money.

It was later reported that they were Bandits who kidn*pped the children when they were playing in broad daylight.

Since then, they tried to get another child and it was all to no avail. They tried various IVF procedures but it was all a failure.

Mr. George lit his cigarette and sat down on the couch in the living room and Robert soon noticed Allison wasn't comfortable with the smoking.

"Allison, Let me show you around" he said excitedly with all attention on young lady.

After the tour, Robert ordered Albert to take Allison home. He couldn't go with her because his mother wanted to have a talk with him, so he had to stay a little longer before going to his house.

Allison walked down the path with him until they reached the driveway. They kissed each other and let go slowly. She waved and he did the same as Albert drove her home safely.

When he had finished. There was a dreadful silence as he approached his mother who apparently was not happy.

"I am disappointed in you Roberts." Mrs. George glowered....
